#ANAMulti #AuthenticLeadership Pernod Ricard As mentioned last Friday, to all my FAMILIA who couldn't partake in the ANA Multicultural 2023 event, I am sharing my perspective on the compelling case studies I encountered during the conference, specifically those that stood out for me. Now is the time for Pernod Ricard this one is special because I was not only impressed with all the amazing marketing they are doing but also what really stood out for me was the leadership. I had the chance for the first time to hear and see Ann Mukherjee Chief Executive Officer of Pernod Ricard North America. In her speech she talked about her career journey including what she did at Pepsi, SC Johson, and Pernod Ricard. She openly talked about her past experience with sexual assault, and how because of this she was on a mission to create something positive, that will resonate with consumers, while positioning Absolut as a brand that cares. The Absolut campaign was called #SexResponsibly – a bold new campaign to help spark a conversation on the role of consent in safe, healthy sex. As she was closing on her presentation she talked about how “Turning Pain into Power” has been one of her strategies to succeed. Having done a lot of personal growth myself and having worked in the corporate wellbeing space, I could see that Ann’s strategy is deep and her leadership was coming from a place of authenticity. #AuthenticLeadership is hard to accomplish because it can only be achieved when the leader lets his/her guard down to become vulnerable, make that his/her superpower, and by doing so inspiring the rest of the organization. Aside from the leadership perspective, it is also brilliant marketing and creative strategy that taps into the very essence of human experience. It has the potential to emotionally connect with the audience, create authenticity, and inspire individuals to act. This approach not only strengthens a brand's message but also leaves a lasting impact in the hearts and minds of consumers. Excited to see how Pernod Ricard will continue to impact its industry and consumers with authentic leadership and empathetic marketing. Ann is an absolutely spectacular leader and staunch advocate for purpose-driven efforts that simultaneously build brands. I had the oleasire of meeting her in person a few weeks back at the ANA Educational Foundation’s Honors Night, where she was, rightfully, an honoree. She’s my newly found hero and inspiration. 🥰
