With the rise of AI and #cloudcomputing, the pressure on #datacentres to manage power and water consumption efficiently has never been higher. But why does sustainable thinking in data centres need to be both broad and deep? While I agree that AI and cloud growth are adding pressure to data centre operations, I question whether simply retrofitting old sites and adjusting cooling systems are enough. We need to rethink the entire infrastructure, from design to implementation, especially with #powerefficiency and cooling efficiency in mind. #AI will keep pushing demand, and if we don’t innovate fast enough, the gap will widen.
