🚫 Myth: The Best Candidate is Always the One with the Most Experience Many believe that the candidate with the longest resume is the best fit. However, recruitment isn't just about years of experience. It's about the right skills, cultural fit, and potential for growth. Often, candidates with less experience bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas that can be incredibly valuable to your team. #Recruitment #Hiring #TalentAcquisition #HRMyths

Let's Rethink Candidate Evaluation: Beyond the Resume When hiring, I have come to realize something important: resumes only scratch the surface of a candidate's potential. Behind every resume is a unique individual with diverse experiences, skills, and potential waiting to be uncovered. Today, I urge fellow recruiters and hiring managers: to let's not dismiss candidates solely based on their resumes. Every piece of paper or digital document represents a unique individual with a wealth of skills, experiences, and passions that may not neatly fit into bullet points. By solely relying on resumes, we risk missing out on exceptional talent that could bring invaluable contributions to our teams and organizations. Instead, let's strive for a more holistic approach to evaluating candidates. Let's delve deeper into their stories, their motivations, and their potential. Let's give every candidate a fair chance to showcase their abilities, regardless of how well their resume aligns with our initial expectations. Remember, diversity drives innovation, and sometimes the most extraordinary talents come from unexpected places. So, let's challenge ourselves to look beyond the resume and discover the untapped potential waiting to be found. Together, let's build teams that thrive on inclusivity and excellence. Are you ready to join the movement? Let's shape the future of hiring. #hiring #recruitment #talentacquisition #innovativehiring #humanpotential #rethinkresumes #diversityandinclusion #unlockpotential #inclusivehiring

Recruitment One of the important parts of recruitment is the talent pool and a lot of recruiters struggle when they are looking for the right talent to fill in a vacant position. Apparently for an expert recruiter, it goes beyond getting resumes, rather are they the right talent you are looking for. It appalling sometimes when hiring managers shortlisted resumes which looks amazing, enticing and captivating, and just putting a coffee chat with the prospective candidate, the candidate can't even articulate the years of experience he had and with which industry, no thanks to the resume revamped guru. Hence, it is important that recruiters, give adequate feedback to candidates who are unable to make it to the final stage of the recruitment process and inform them that their resume will be kept in the archive in case of future opportunities. This gives an edge to recruiters who want to have an adequate talent pool professional and expert, Yes, the candidate might not make it to your final recruitment stage, but i tell you he might be a good fit for other roles. #recruitment #HR #staffing #talent

Dear Recruiter, Candidates are humans seeking to make a living. Treat them fairly in the recruitment process. - Avoid shortlisting overqualified candidates, saving them time and energy. - Refrain from using candidates for testing new recruitment strategies without genuine hiring intentions. - Stop demanding higher degrees for roles that do not require them, leading to underpayment. - Be transparent about desired qualifications instead of using vague terms like "desirable." - Respect candidates' schedules by being flexible with interview timings. - Stop using systems that would take a candidate 45 minutes to complete an application just to ask them to put the same information unto a CV. It's either a CV or an application form. Why both? - Provide constructive feedback instead of ghosting candidates post-interview. - Stop ignoring people when you post jobs on Linkedin and people are making inquiries. It would be nice for you to include you don't have any information or sway regarding this role. Job hunting is demanding; show empathy and respect throughout the recruitment journey. #Recruitment #Empathy #HR #JobSearch #CandidateExperience #Liberia
