The PGA Tour is paying out $1.5 billion in equity grants to players 💸💸 Tiger, Rory, and friends are getting rewarded for their loyalty. Here are the details — As part of the Strategic Sports Group's $3 billion investment in the PGA Tour earlier this year, a "Player Equity Program" was created to turn influential players into equity owners. The initial $930 million of equity grants — there's an additional ~$600 million coming in the future — will be distributed among 193 players who fall into the following four categories: • Group 1: $750 million to the top 36 players. • Group 2: $75 million to 64 "steady performers and up-and-comers". • Group 3: $30 million to 57 players based on career earnings. • Group 4: $75 million to "past legends". The grants have an 8-year vesting period and will be worth 50% of their value after 4 years, 75% after 6, and 100% after 8 years. According to The Telegraph, Tiger Woods is set to get a $100 million stake and Rory McIlroy is expected to receive $50 million. What do you think about this move by the PGA Tour? CANAL+ Group taking (continuing) the carriage deal route through beIN MEDIA GROUP doesn't come as a huge surprise.
