If you're like many adults, you're probably not getting enough sleep... I know first hand how insufficient sleep can take a toll on your mind and body. If you're someone who needs help prioritising sleep to ensure you are getting enough, set yourself a target bed time that allows you to get the hours you need (working back from the time you need to wake up). Then once you have this, try to work towards this gradually. For example, if you've set a bedtime goal of getting at least 8 hours of sleep, you can start by getting to bed earlier and bringing bedtime forward gradually by 15-30 minutes at a time. Here are some gentle strategies to help your little one sleep through the night: 1️⃣ Establish a bedtime routine: Create a soothing routine with a bath, massage, story, and cuddles. 2️⃣ Set the stage for sleep: Keep the room dark, quiet, cool, and use white noise. 3️⃣ Encourage self-soothing: Place your baby in the crib drowsy but awake to help them learn to settle back to sleep. 4️⃣ Practice responsive comforting: Comfort your baby without picking them up immediately. 5️⃣ Be consistent: Stick to your approach and be patient.
