Some crazy stats for you optical module fans (and, seriously, who isn't?) from Scott Wilkinson of Cignal AI at ECOC Exhibition: -- 400G inside-the-datacenter modules grew at an 84% CAGR between 2020 and 2022. Now, it's 350%. -- 3.5% of Capex was spent on 'inside' modules. It's rising to 7%. -- In China, AI training is taking place across datacenters up to 100km apart. -- Outside-the-datacenter coherent modules grew 100x from 2021 through 2025. 800G is ramping relatively quickly but 1.6T should be faster. -- LPO? The power savings are "miniscule compared to going to something like liquid cooling."
