Earlier this summer, we had the privilege of welcoming the talented graduate team from Marshall Wace 🌙 Not only did they create some incredible bakes, but they also went above and beyond by selling them to raise an impressive £2,735 for our cause. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team and everyone at Marshall Wace for your continued support. Your generosity truly makes a difference in the lives of those we serve! Their actions speak for themselves as this meaningful work makes a significant difference in the lives of many young people and their families who have found themselves in need of treatment at AARC. On Friday, the Board and whole team Out There got together to reflect on our current strategy, written right at the tail end of COVID and the adapting we had to do then. It was a brilliant day of celebration, contribution & challenge!. In a very difficult environment for charities & all the political, economic & social context we were able to reflect on some of the great work done by the team, not least: - the growth of our support for children & young people, & the crucial part for us of utilising all the assets around a child to support them. -the development of our hub and that space becoming a place of work for other charities, & a space for community groups, and the conversations that encourages tackling stigma of imprisonment for family members & others in a community. -continuing & strengthening our core familial support- the quote below shows we cannot underestimate the value of being there for a family in their most difficult time, but further developing that & understanding different needs. Nothing in the charity world at the moment is guaranteed- funding etc is a continuing, and growing challenge, but it was cathartic to have such a supportive group all together, passionate & committed to helping those who need it. Over the summer we will continue a conversation we have started with families for them to shape too what we do next & refine it all as the next part of our plans.

Last week saw our bi-annual staff meeting, which is one of the few chances the entire team get-together in the whole year 😊 We provide such a specialist service here at Branches, that our staff all work on different days, times, and shift patterns every day of the week. (It takes a village!) We had such a great get-together thrashing out plans for the year ahead and goals as a charity, we are already excited for our next meeting again in Jan! Can't believe how quickly the year is flying by! #staffmeeting #biannualmeeting #staff #teamworkmakesthedreamwork💯 #discussions #comingtogether #branchesteam #behindthescenes #takesavillage #supportingenvironment #homelessness #reducinghomelessness #e17 #walthamforest #grouping #stratedgicplanning #planningandimplementation #teamwork #brancheshostel #hostel #residential #residents #sharingideas #staffboard #years #structure #enablingindependence #summer #team #mindwork

🌟 If You Assume We're a Charity... Think Again! 🌟 At Stand Out, we're all about defying expectations breaking stereotypes and challenging the status quo!!! Our amazing team is spearheaded by individuals with Down Syndrome, but that doesn't mean we're a charity or a CIC. Far from it!! While it's understandable that some might assume due to our unique team composition, it aligns us with a charitable organisation, Stand Out is anything but!! Stand Out operates as a dynamic, thriving business propelled by passion, innovation, and the unwavering commitment to excellence of our team and products! Our team members are not here out of charity or pity. They're here because they're talented, capable individuals who bring invaluable perspectives and skills to the table. We are that confident in our team and vision that to date Stand Out hasn't received a single penny in funding and doesn't accept donations. That's right – zero, nada, zilch! Also, contrary to common belief, our team isn't comprised of volunteers. At Stand Out, we have a strict non-volunteer policy!!! Every member of our phenomenal staff is compensated well above the minimum wage for every hour they dedicate to our mission of creating a more inclusive society!! STAND OUT WILL CHANGE THE WORLD!! (Strong words but we believe it!!) Follow our story - Stand Out Socks ✌️🧡🧦 #StandOutSocks #DisabilityInclusion #DownSyndromeAwareness #ThereIsAPlaceForEveryoneAtTheBusinessTable

If we aren’t helping one another with the resources we have, the knowledge we have gained, or even through time, treasures, and talents, the question must be asked, “Why?” and “What exactly are your motives in not sharing/helping?” Hoarding anything doesn’t help anyone. #bettertodaytogether #bettertomorrowtogether

It Takes TWO
We recently carried out a deep clean on the floors at CISCA House, which is a drop-in day centre on Canvey Island that provides a safe and supportive space for people aged over 55. We have been servicing CISCA House for a number of years and take great pride in delivering support to such an important facility for the local community. Our work was incredibly well received - here's what the charity's joint chairpersons had to say: "I wanted to say how impressed we are by the standard of the cleaning/polishing of our main hall floor on Saturday and the two young men who did the job were exemplary." #floorcleaning #commercialcleaning

Engineering and Product Leader @Microsoft | Experience of building one failed and 2 successful technology start-ups
Build Winning Teams: Help Others to Help You Everything on earth which is their for others gets respected and thrives for e.g. everything free from nature (trees, air, water, sun) gives mankind so many things without expecting anything and they are all critical for us to live. A beggar on the roadside with board saying ‘I am homeless, I am hungry’ expects donations from all and in-turn gets some money based on the donor’s mood, if he is interested in feeling grateful that time when he/she reading the board. Instead, if beggar, re-writes his board as ‘think about donating to me when you plan to donate next time’, is able to sell his/her circumstance and now people reading this will remember this as one of noble cause when-ever they plan to donate next. In a way, beggar is able to create need for himself by telling users, what’s in it for them (donors) and not for him? Think of a scenario from our families, we in our family have different roles, but we really always think of co-operation and helping each other and that’s what make us a happy and successful family, each and everyone ready to make sacrifice to make other successful in family and that’s what makes our family team, ‘a thriving winning team’!! As team members and managers, we always aim to do successful projects and build great culture in teams, but always wait for someone in team to take the first step to collaborate more beyond their role and accountability but if we try to experience once that, like our ‘smile’ , our intent to adapt and help others in team quickly spreads among others team members, we will be able to make our team a winning thriving team. Lets give it a try!!
