Having worked closely with the government for decades, I've had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the impact that good governance can have on society. It's more than just policies and procedures—it's about cultivating a culture of transparency, accountability, and inclusivity. Good governance, in my experience, is built on these key pillars: -> Transparency: Open and honest communication fosters trust and ensures that all stakeholders are informed and engaged. -> Accountability: True leadership means taking responsibility for actions and decisions, ensuring that outcomes are aligned with ethical standards. -> Inclusivity: A government that listens to and considers diverse perspectives is one that truly serves its people. -> Responsiveness: Addressing the needs and concerns of citizens in a timely manner is crucial for maintaining public trust. -> Sustainability: Decisions made today must be with an eye on the future, ensuring long-term benefits for society. Through my journey, I've learned that good governance is the backbone of a thriving, resilient society. It's what transforms intentions into meaningful action and drives positive change. As we continue to navigate the complexities of our world, let’s commit to upholding these principles, ensuring that our actions today build a stronger, more equitable tomorrow. #Governance #Leadership #PublicService #Transparency #Accountability #GoodGovernance #JPNADDA #Yoga 😊

👉 "The SDG2000 companies have resources and influence equivalent to some of the biggest countries, impacting more people than the populations of many nations. The fact that 90% of these companies are failing to act on fundamental social expectations shows the state of play of the private sector. Demonstrating leadership in creating an equal, inclusive, and just world could significantly aid governments in eradicating poverty, reducing inequality, and ensuring access to decent work for all. Regulation, guidance, and external pressure are necessary to steer businesses in the right direction." -- Namit Agarwal of World Benchmarking Alliance #bizhumanrights #esg #inclusion #regulation #humanrights
This week, the World Benchmarking Alliance published its first Social Benchmark, assessing the world’s 2,000 most influential companies on their responsibility in meeting society’s fundamental expectations towards respecting human rights, providing decent work, and acting ethically. 👉 "Alarmingly, 90% of the assessed companies are not even halfway to meeting fundamental societal expectations on human rights, decent work and ethical conduct. Over 30% of companies score only between 0 and 2 points out of 20 total possible points." #bizhumanrights #esg #corporateresponsibility #meassurement https://lnkd.in/g5NnJXbR
