Think you're the best communicator? Perhaps not. Sometimes we speak in a language that works for us but not others. Here's 5 things you can do to improve that: 1. Know your audience’s preferences ↳ Adapt your tone - be it chatty and humorous or concise and polished - match what resonates with them 2. Choose the right medium ↳ Use a communication channel your audience prefers - don’t push a medium they’re not comfortable with 3. Use relevant references ↳ Avoid cultural references that you or your audience may not fully grasp - this is dangerous territory 4. Stay adaptable ↳ Tune into your audience’s verbal and non-verbal cues to adjust your approach in real time 5. Match their energy and pace ↳ If your audience is lively and fast-paced, keep up. For a more serious crowd, slow down and be thorough Master these techniques, and you’ll build stronger connections and communicate more effectively. 👇 What would you add to this list? ******************* ♻️ Repost if you found this useful 👉 Follow Jas Schembri-Stothart for insights like this
Great tips for improving communication. Definitely need to keep up with the ever-changing times of social media!
These are some great tips thanks Jas Schembri-Stothart. For the last point, any tips on how to read someone's energy? To me it's always a play of verbal (tone, presence, etc.) as well as non-verbal (body language, eye contact, etc.) to fully gauge it
literally all my favorite emojis...tough to be an oldie 😂 💀 😭
Jas Schembri-Stothart I'm so happy you're spreading this message! Whether you're giving a keynote, a sales pitch, a discovery call, a work meeting, we need to think about the people we're talking to, their needs and perspectives, not just our own!
So important to know how your audience acts before assuming - love this take Jas Schembri-Stothart
Tailoring your approach to your audience is key.
Should be taught in school this
Understanding and aligning with your audience is key to effective communication. I’d add: simplify complex ideas—clarity is always appreciated. 💀
Thanks for keeping us on trend (insert appropriate, non-cringey laugh emoji here)
