Seeking resources in dynamic governance? Sociocracy supports organizations to create highly efficient and equivalent cultures of shared power and collective decision making. While many organizations first need to deal with structural dynamics that get in the way, building these skills can catapault a commited team or organization's collective efficacy into new heights. #governance #sharedpower
About 1 month to go until the deadline. It's summer for many of us, I know. And still September will come and we all want for organizations to run better everywhere :)

We're counting down the days to our 40th anniversary celebration by looking back through our history, year by year. Why has our work been so concentrated on affordable housing? Because stable housing affects nearly every aspect of a person's life, particularly their health and well-being, and because that where our tools--loans and training--have enormous impact. https://bit.ly/44idbQY

A very powerful message and one that most definitely needs to be shared.
The lead up to Christmas is a busy time for lots of organisations. Certainly is at SGN, winter is our busiest time of year, particularly over the festive period when our front line colleagues work so hard, providing the heat we all rely on. But who looks after the people who are keeping us all safe and warm? I found this #mentalhealth video from Tarmac particularly impactful. Let’s make sure that all we look out for each other. https://lnkd.in/eVG5Q9Rk
The most wonderful time of the year?

It’s time for your Year End Wrap Up! As you curl up tonight or tomorrow take some time to reflect on 2023. 1. List out all your wins from the big to the small. It takes 1,000,000 baby steps to make your dreams come true. Did not forget to celebrate all you DID do this year. (It’s about the journey, not just destination!) 2. Reflect on the lessons you learned. The good, the bad, and the ugly! (They are equally important teachers.) 3. Think about what you’d like to leave in 2023, and what you’d like to carry into 2024. We’ll talk goal setting in the next couple weeks, but 1st reflect and complete the year at hand. May 2024 bring you love, light, connection, community, and abundance. Happy New Year loves!

Maybe, just maybe, we are actually doing good? Dare I say great? Last night was parent orientation at school. My daughter's teacher relayed that each child needs two snacks for the morning and one for the afternoon, and they should be healthy snacks. The assistant teacher chimed in, "Oh, your daughter always has enough food and a very healthy variety. She loves her carrots" It dawned on me. Maybe I'm doing well here? How often do we allow ourselves to be proud of our work and admit that we are doing well? Usually, we're on here talking about the challenge of balance, the grind of building programs or businesses, or sage advice that we want to share with the world. How often do we stop and recognize that maybe all the ideas, all the effort, all the time that we are putting into the different areas of our lives are actually having the effect we hope for? How often do we take a step back and realize that we're working hard to create something and maybe, just maybe, we are actually in the process of creating the exact thing that we want? Maybe we are on the right path to achieving the vision we have for our lives. As we approach the Jewish New Year, it's important to find opportunities to celebrate the successes, to be proud of yourself, and also consider what you did RIGHT last year and what you want to continue to incorporate for the year ahead. Maybe you're doing good too? Shana tova to all my connections celebrating the New Year this week.
