The results from the first year of the digital maturity assessment (DMA) in 2023, showed that only 10 to 30% of the 90% of NHS trusts with an electronic patient record had key functionality and were making full use of their system. Last year it included 50 questions, measuring maturity against the seven dimensions of the What Good Looks Like framework: well led, smart foundations, safe practice, support people, empower citizens, improve care, and healthy populations. What are your thoughts on the DMA? Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gA22X3sn #digitalhealth #NHS #digitalmaturity

Delivering fit-for-purpose Pharmaceutical Needs Assessments for Health & Wellbeing Boards nationally. | Extensive experience in PNA delivery – 46 to date | Chief Operating Officer at Soar Beyond
It's #PublicHealthWorkforceWeek this week - an important time to recognise the contribution of all the professionals who work hard to support the health and wellbeing of the country. Given that the theme of public health workforce week is around the intense challenges we will face in healthcare over the next ten years, it's important to acknowledge the importance of collaboration to meet this challenge head-on. We've seen a huge change in the role of a pharmacist in the 18 years since Soar Beyond was formed, and we are so pleased that pharmacists are recognised for the enhanced roles they can play within the healthcare system. We know that pressure on primary healthcare resources can be reduced with more public health education and promotion. We know that access to your pharmacy can help to prevent high-cost trips to A&E. We know that long-term health conditions can be better managed with support from your local pharmacy team. We also know that a comprehensive assessment of pharmacy needs is crucial for all local authorities right now. Every three years, local authorities are legally required to complete a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment, which looks at how local services meet the health needs of the local population. #CommunityPharmacy #PublicHealth

Anjna Sharma, I could not agree more. Pharmaceutical Needs Assessments (PNA) are a statutory requirement in line with Pharmaceutical regulations. If done correctly, they could be developed further into a commissioning document to examine how Community Pharmacy and its assets (workforce, premises, and infrastructure) can be developed further. PNAs must not be a tick-box exercise but rather the start of a meaningful conversation between ICS's and HWBs on how the Community Pharmacy network can be developed to support the prevention, medicine optimisation, and population health management agendas. This is a chance to reset and plan for the future.

“Lord Darzi’s report on the future of the NHS highlights some crucial issues that need to be urgently addressed. “Health inequalities have widened and as a result, we now have a population that has become less healthy, and a workforce that has become less productive. As a country, we must reprioritise our spending to address this. “This report is an excellent start to identifying key issues and I look forward to further engagement on creating long-term sustainable solutions. In particular, where difficult choices have to be made on what can and cannot be funded, we need a new process that takes public opinion into account.” Our President, Professor Gillian Leng CBE, reacts to today's report by Lord Darzi on the future of the NHS. NHS commentator Roy Lilley has set out common sense ideas that can underpin the future of the NHS. We need to: ✅ Leverage technology to improve service delivery, patient care, and operational efficiency. ✅ Improve hospital efficiency and reduce delays ✅ Increase capacity in acute and community services ✅ Have better strategies that support and retain the workforce. NHS organisations such as Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust and University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust are already delivering against these measures using the MyStaff app. This user-friendly tech gives staff in multiple settings faster access to vital information at the point of care, which releases capacity that can be redirected to patient care. Easier access to policies, pathways, and patient information supports best-practice care and removes the frustration of searching for such information. Staff have the tools they need to do the job, which can help improve morale. Thousands use this tech every day, and the feedback is excellent. As Roy says, the ideas above have already been referenced in the NHS Long Term Plan; we know they need to be implemented. Pioneering healthcare organisations are turning these ideas into reality using the MyStaff app to transform their approach to corporate governance and document management, with impressive results. Get in touch for a quick demo and we can show you how. https://lnkd.in/ebvgBtrc #NHSProductivity #NHSReform #NHSConsultation #DigitalHealth #CorporateGovernance #ClinicalGovernance #DigitalTransformation #DocumentManagement
