Our road trip continues! Next stop in Lusive’s SoCal Summer Series is a refresh of a classic property, the Sheraton Hotels & Resorts San Diego. Marriott and the Forrest Perkins design team tasked us with illuminating the grand public spaces throughout the Marina Tower AND a complete revitalization of the wonderful 1970’s ballroom chandeliers. Modernist branches with overscale, frosted glass ‘blossoms’ glide through the many pre-function areas, punctuated with single- and multi-tiered pendants with overlapping antiqued mirror panels and gorgeous gold leafed sconces... Like effervescent bubbles as you surf a SoCal wave, the custom lighting crafted for the Balboa Bay Club lobby and ballroom takes inspiration from the Newport Beach surroundings. Looking for a new Summer eating experience? Take a peek inside the newly opened Din Tai Fung 鼎泰豐 at the Glendale Galleria for a delicious selection of custom lighting crafted by Lusive in another collaboration with Rockwell Group ✨ The central bar glows with lantern-like tiers mirrored in the pendants lining the main dining room; mysterious layered pools of light hover at the booths and glowing shades illuminating the banquets. Inspired by the architecture - and of course the flavor! - of Taiwan, Rockwell have created an atmosphere that has made the Din Tai Fung eateries a favorite among foodies.
