3 Crucial Factors Employers Are Looking For When Recruiting International Candidates ❓❓Are you wondering how to present yourself to overseas employers, when you are looking for work as an international candidate? 💥 💥The best way to present yourself is to give employers what they want, and in the next 5 minutes, I will walk you through the 3 most important things that employers are looking for when they are looking to employ international candidates. 👉 👉 #3 is the most important! 👉 👉 #1 - Eligibility – the first question that an overseas employer will ask themselves in the event that they see your CV and application for a position, is “Is this person eligible to enter this country if I give them a job offer?”. Can they be stopped at the border? Will they be able to be issued a work visa or qualify for residence and able to stay with me? Therefore, you must have done a full, comprehensive eligibility assessment through all the many eligibility criteria and know which visas you will qualify for and if you can stay in that country and get residence. If you need help with this, look for a link around this video where you can contact me to give you some direction about how to achieve this. 👉 👉 #2 - They are checking for credibility and validity of information. In other words, how will they be able to verify the information that is on a CV, on LinkedIn, etc? Have you communicated your skills assessment information and have done many other things on LinkedIn to communicate with your overseas network that you can do the job that you say you can? 👉 👉 #3 – Your Value. This is the thing – an overseas employer must be authorised or accredited by the government to employ international candidates. That process costs them a lot of money and under those schemes, they have a lot of pastoral care obligations towards immigrants. It costs them thousands of dollars to recruit and employ you. Therefore, you must be able to demonstrate your value to them. In other words, it needs to be a good return on investment to employ you and go through all these expensive processes to get you. You must be able to demonstrate that value with much more than just a CV. Other tools are needed, for example, a STAR profile. This showcases your skills in action and demonstrates how valuable you are in the marketplace because your CV can look like everyone else’s CV.
