The thing I want people to understand is that *right now* is the time for us in the deep tech, space and national security industries to have that cowboy spirit. It's about pushing boundaries and not playing by bureaucracy to get hard things done *in under ten years*. As you all know, for the first time ever in decades since the end of the Cold War we again have a technological near peer. I'm looking forward to being in the great state of Texas, home to so much of our space community, to speak with my dear friend Mo Islam at SXSW on this spirit in the space national security arena. Over the past 60 or so years, I've had the privilege of being a boots-on-ground engineer, an agency leader, a founder and now a private equity investor and startup advisor in space technologies focused on keeping citizens safe. There is so much I'm dying to share with you. For those interested in coming to the talk, come to the Payload event in South Congress Hall and look for the Bronx boy in the cowboy boots 🗽🤠. And for those who can't, drop some of your questions you want answered on the topic below. You'll be there in spirit. 👇 #nationalsecurity #space #newspace #aerospace #innovation #technology #deeptech #stem #science #nasa #spacex #business #tech #startups

What if I told you that failure is the only way to succeed? In both business and innovation, failure is an essential step toward success. Just look at SpaceX. After multiple setbacks, they’ve recently succeeded in catching the returning Starship rocket — a groundbreaking milestone! This achievement reminds us that failure isn't final. Instead, it's an opportunity to learn, refine, and improve. Whether it’s in launching rockets or seizing business opportunities, perseverance through failure leads to incredible breakthroughs. Take each failure as a lesson, and you’ll be closer to success. 🚀 #Innovation #Perseverance #LearningFromFailure #BusinessLeadership https://lnkd.in/e6C7h_R8

CEO at SAS | Advisor to Growth-Stage Tech Companies | Expert in Sales Strategy, Processes & Scalable Systems
Good thing Kennedy knew how to pitch. “If you give me a couple of million we can build a decent rocket and launch astronauts into space.” That statement would never have galvanized the country. It would never have got people to walk on the Moon. “Why are we doing this?”. The ability to clearly set out your Moonshot will excite people and galvanize people. So let’s give entrepreneurs with great vision the support because if we can help them get there, even if they only get halfway there, that would be fantastic, wouldn’t it? Investors, support organisations, potential board members, everybody is looking to be part of something exciting. The impact of having a Moonshot goal excites the people around you and it draws them to you. Rather than being just another astronaut in orbit, be inspiring. The ability to communicate your Moonshot goal AND have a clear narrative for how you will get there is what gets you support, the best people, finance. #ZCL #Moonshot #Funding #VC #NED

Growth is not just about scaling up; it’s about leveling up. Consider SpaceX and its reusable rockets. Initially, SpaceX aimed to revolutionize space travel with its Falcon rockets, but it didn't stop there. Instead of discarding rocket stages after use, SpaceX developed technology to land and reuse them. This innovation dramatically reduces the cost of space exploration and opens up new possibilities for space missions. So, if you're thinking about growth, ~ it's not just about expanding; ~ it's about innovating and pushing boundaries, just like SpaceX did with its reusable rocket technology. What does growth mean to you? Share your thoughts in the comments below! 👇🌱 ____________ Feel free to reach out anytime you need assistance or have more questions. Three weeks ago, as #Starship flew to new heights, I shared my enthusiasm for the #newspace industry and highlighted some of my recent research. 🚀 I also expressed my deep admiration for European spacetech entrepreneurs, who have so far overcome numerous challenges to build impressive companies. One can only be impressed and optimistic when witnessing the influx of stellar European entrepreneurs into the spacetech arena, who bring talent, grit, and a sense of urgency to develop a newspace industry that mirrors the success we've seen in the US. Today marks another iconic milestone. This time also for Europe. The SSC - Swedish Space Corporation and U.S. space transportation company Firefly Aerospace have signed a collaborative agreement to launch satellites with Firefly's Alpha rocket from the newly inaugurated #spaceport at #Esrange Space Center in Sweden, starting in 2026. As a VC in Sweden, I must say I am particularly excited about the vibrant ecosystem this partnership could foster. I very much look forward to seeing the incredible innovations and opportunities that will emerge from this! Times are changing! 🌟 More here 👉 https://lnkd.in/g7BCMUR4 #SpaceTech #Innovation #Entrepreneurship #EuropeanSpace #VentureCapital #Sweden

As a new space venture studio, one of our core studio engagements we love is Acceleration. We love working with founders in the new space category, because they’re pioneers like no other. There’s no written playbook for this new world where concept to mission operations can occur 100% in the commercial world. That’s where we step in. The Mandala team has had the fortune of spending the last few decades successfully sending spacecraft into the harshest space environments. We’ve also had the misfortune of experiencing all kinds of failures. But this helped us develop a playbook based on real experience. And we love bringing this ever evolving playbook to help growth-stage space founders accelerate their company in the Mandala Studio. #space #newspace #aerospace #innovation #technology #deeptech #stem #science #nasa #spacex #business #tech #startups
