Throughout my career, I've been mindful of using idioms in my communication, especially when working in buying and collaborating with suppliers from around the world. When interacting with global partners, I prioritised clear communication and avoided relying on idiomatic expressions to prevent misunderstandings. Conversely, when engaging with colleagues in the office, I often used idioms without thinking twice about it. I'm curious to hear from others: How do you approach communication to ensure clarity and inclusivity in your professional interactions? #CommunicationSkills #ProfessionalDevelopment #WorkplaceCommunication #BusinessIdioms #LanguageLearning #BusinessEnglish #ESLLearning #CareerDevelopment #EnglishLanguage
This week’s podcast episode is available now! Whether you're looking to enhance your professional communication skills or simply curious about idiomatic expressions used in the workplace, this episode is for you. To complement the episode, you can access downloadable worksheets. These worksheets are designed to reinforce your learning and help you apply idioms confidently in real-world scenarios. #CommunicationSkills #ProfessionalDevelopment #WorkplaceCommunication #BusinessIdioms #LanguageLearning #BusinessEnglish #ESLLearning #CareerDevelopment #EnglishLanguage https://lnkd.in/eptDbFMr

I joined my friend, mentor, and advisor, Tim Martinez's, podcast to talk about the art of delegation. As leaders, we often fall into the trap of thinking we need to know it all, do it all, and never ask for help. But the reality is, this mindset can be limiting. Tim and I chatted about how delegating doesn't make you weak—it makes you effective. When we hesitate to delegate because we don't want to burden our team, we're actually holding them back from doing impactful work. We talked about how it might seem faster to do it yourself, especially if you're a recovering perfectionist like me. But by doing so, you risk becoming a bottleneck. Aim for the 80% rule—if your team can do the job at 80% of your level, let them. And we explored the real cost of not delegating. Burnout, stalled growth, and a weakened succession plan. Let go, delegate, and watch your team—and yourself—thrive.
