If you're in North America and considering advertising via Google Ads in the EEA (European Economic Area), you need to read into Consent Mode V2 🔐 TL;DR "To keep using measurement, ad personalization, and remarketing features, you must collect consent for use of personal data from end users based in the EEA and share consent signals with Google." Most EEA advertisers (including myself) have been implementing Consent Mode V2 rapidly the last few months. If you anticipate expanding into the EEA, you now not only need to abide by GDPR, but you also need to add in additional privacy features like Consent Mode V2 otherwise you essentially lose parts of your conversion tracking.

So, Google finally did it – today, they've started the phase-out of third-party #cookies for 1% of Chrome users, sending shockwaves throughout the digital advertising industry. While it might look like just a small fraction, it's really the first sign of a massive shift coming to online advertising, with Google's end goal being to completely eliminate cookies for all Chrome users by year's end. It's a big deal, considering we're talking about the $600 billion online advertising industry where cookies have been king for years. This shift puts a huge spotlight on #privacy and how #data is handled. The ad world is racing to adapt. Marketers and tech companies are trying to figure out their next steps, raising questions about their readiness to adapt and the tight timeline imposed by Google, especially since Google's alternatives, like the Privacy Sandbox, are still in their early stages and have yet to gain full trust and understanding within the industry. Nevertheless, Google is committed to a smooth transition. Furthermore, today, Index Exchange and IAB Tech Lab(https://lnkd.in/g7dJjc7p) have collaborated to introduce a Privacy Sandbox Demo Tool(https://lnkd.in/gQ3nQQhz). This tool lets media owners and buyers thoroughly test Privacy Sandbox Protected Audience APIs, offering a real-time, in-depth understanding of the functionalities and potential implications of these new technologies without full implementation. This collaboration signifies that the #adtech community is coming together to adapt to a future without cookies. While challenges lie ahead, these changes also present significant opportunities for growth in the ever-changing digital landscape, emphasizing the importance of #firstpartydata in this transformation. #google #cookies #privacysandbox #futureofmarketing https://lnkd.in/gYDuvTGT
