For many years, The NBR List carried a negative label: RICH. Amid the pandemic in 2020, the decision was made to skip the List, as the audience was uninterested in hearing from affluent individuals unless they offered valuable advice. However, in 2021, The NBR List was relaunched. It now showcases inspirational insights and philanthropic innovation, resonating with a broader audience. Despite the positive reception, not all individuals wish to be featured. This year, we faced another legal challenge from someone unhappy with their own success. Nevertheless, those who embrace our mission generously share their time and stories, shedding light on both challenging and rewarding experiences. Join us on Monday, June 10th to celebrate the unsung heroes featured in The NBR List. Let their stories of resilience and bravery inspire you. NBR - National Business Review.

“...We need to reduce the reach of unverified accounts, identify bad actors, trolls, foreign agents, and provocateurs, who game and misuse the system by trafficking in false, misleading and emotionally divisive information. We need to harness this amazing technology to advance humanity’s shared interest in ushering in a new and more powerful enlightenment — rather than allow it to lead us into greater peril…” ~George Chanos, Enq., who became NV’s 31st Attorney General, administered Nevada’s Department of Justice, and acted as the state’s chief legal officer and advisor. It’s been a week of grief, anger, sadness, and more for many this week. Some things to do in times like this: 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲: Having people around you who also believe in the power of humanity and investing in social good is KEY. That’s why I’ve opened the waitlist for The Collective Shift Book Club - join here: https://lnkd.in/gXr5Ez8E 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Call your representatives-no matter their political party-and let them know what’s important to you. Find them here: https://lnkd.in/gNngXTpw 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭: Rest helps you restore for the long game. The fight for justice is long, and we need you here. 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐲𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞: Dismantling and rebuilding systems that are built on centuries of White supremacy, rich-get-richer capitalism, and hate takes a LONGGGG time. When you get frustrated, zoom out and remember that your work builds on foremothers’ and forefathers’ work long before you. Read books, watch documentaries, or visit a local museum that reminds you of this. What am I missing here?

*NEW BLOG* Part II ”Stewarding a Giving Relationship: A Spectrum of Possibility co-written by Cultural Organizer Monét Noelle Marshall and Donor Organizer Hilary Pollan. Hilary and I are back with Part II of “Stewarding a Giving Relationship: A Spectrum of Possibility” exploring the Spectrum of Resources in a relationship between Cultural Organizer and a Donor. To explore this spectrum, both people may ask questions like: How much money will I give/ask for? How will the money be moved? How will the resource ‘ask” evolve and/or change over time? What other resources can be shared in the giving relationship? Learn more about how we navigate these questions: https://lnkd.in/e_Cbhek9 AND it’s not too late to join us on Tuesday, April 16th from 6:30 - 8PM for our Donor Briefing “An Exploration of Southern Black Organizing” (RSVP at bit.ly/scbo). If you missed Part 1, check it out here: https://lnkd.in/g8jDsZAz
