A fascinating watch for anyone in the nonprofit sector -- and for those who donate to nonprofits. The central discussion is on society's focus on nonprofit overheads as the measure of a good nonprofit... instead of focusing on the nonprofit's impact on those it helps. Low overheads are achieved because of the sacrifices made by those who work for nonprofits -- those who will work for salaries well below their corporate market value, those whose passion for a cause drives them live frugally. Impact is everything! If 10X the impact is achieved by increasing marketing/fundraising spend 4X, then that's a good thing, no? Food for thought... Fundraise Up

Good feel exchange + there is a key message to learn 🎓 Charities & Fundraisers - What's your definition of "Support" when fundraising? Yes, it's about donations to get income to pay for specific services. It's also about people giving their time and encouragement, sharing with their network, and even being at the event. This video exchange is from my recent 100-mile attempt with my awesome friend and mentor, Lars, whom I was fortunate to meet over twelve years ago when we worked together at ACTIVE. Even though we both went on to new work paths, Lars Nordhild Rønning has always been present every year for my challenges. I've always thought he was a crazy Dane just showing up, but when he does, you can see how much he cares. One thing that I always notice, which is not normal in our fast-paced world, is when he speaks to you, he is never distracted on a mobile or multi-tasking work - if he is sharing his time with you, he is fully invested with you and engaged, it's just amazing. Lars Nordhild Rønning - if I could define a "supporter" and donor, it would be you. You give your time. The point of the message is to know your supporters; whether someone donates money or not, they can be an incredible supporter to you and help fundraise. #charityfundraising #fundraising #fundraiser #charities #donors #nonprofit
