#AccountTakeover, #AI, and #Authentication ⚠ In the latest news, a neo-bank just became a target for account takeover, impacting its business customers by over 20,000 pounds! 👀 (Image the impact on their reputation and the concern among their customers) Not only did the fraudster manage to convince and manipulate their customers, but they also managed to get the transactions authenticated by them, meaning: no more reimbursement. ⁉ As AI accelerates and it becomes easier to find consumer credentials over the dark web or social channels, it would be easier to convince someone and gain access to their accounts. 💲💲 #Banks need to up their game! #Precision is the name of the game: While traditional providers rely on basic consumer profiling, location and IP tracking, and email validation, the more #intelligence they can harness, the more #precise would be their decision-making. Even in cases where a fraudulent transaction appears to be legitimate, the receiver bank certainly needs to adhere to protocols to monitor inbound transactions. 🧠🧠 While intelligence is essential, #collaboration is critical.
