Are you frustrated about your inability to meet your fundraising goals? Maybe folks don’t understand what you do or how their gift will matter. Values, vision, and voice must be clear to donors - especially to female donors. Women value connection, and they feel connected with and supportive of their communities when they give. Gift givers need to connect to your values and vision. Voice is another important component. When approached by a group that is needing millions, a potential donor may feel that his or her ability to contribute may not be meaningful. Make sure that you can show how gifts of all sizes make impact. It is important to hear the voices of donors who speak freely, comfortably, and proudly about how their gift makes a difference. Let me help you craft your messaging. Message matters.

Strengthening democracy requires immediate solutions within a long-game approach. @She Should Run is pursuing exactly that by working to dramatically increase the number of women who are considering a run for office. I’ve served on the She Should Run Community Council since the Fall of 2023 and Im so proud to support the critical work their team is doing to grow women’s political leadership. If you’re eager to get involved too, I strongly encourage you to join our monthly giving program, Team250K. https://lnkd.in/g3QW3xzS Women don’t just decide to run for office overnight. On average, it takes more than 4 years! This is why monthly donors are so crucial to She Should Run’s work. When you become a member of Team250K, you’re helping support our mission to get more women on the ballot–because when women run, they win, and when women lead, we’re all the better for it. Plus, when you sign up for a new monthly donation by today (July 15), She Should Run will send you a free gift as a thank-you! Join Team250K now and let’s support Women Running for office together: https://lnkd.in/g3QW3xzS

Happy International Women's Day! 💜 Today, I want to share a story about the significance of valuing what some people might consider insignificant - the dime. Growing up, my mom saved every dime she could, and it wasn't until years later that I realized she was using them to save for our Christmas gifts and to make donations to the church. She lived a life of service, no matter the sacrifice, and I learned to respect that little coin that most people forget. Let me ask you how many of you are in this room if I gave the choice between 10 dimes and a dollar bill which one would you take? I'm guessing many of you might take the dollar bill. Why? Maybe it's the perception that a dollar bill has more prestige or maybe it's even easier to carry. As I developed myself personally and professionally, I made it a purpose to live like a dime and get the same respect as a dollar. From volunteering my time as a mom on a limited budget to utilizing every resource I had as a small business owner, I learned to allocate investments appropriately and build sustainable strategies that drive success without waste. Some might say this approach is overrated or that I work too hard to maximize the impact of that small dime. But I have proven that when we pay attention to the small things and maximize their value, the forces are far more significant than that of a single dollar bill. So today, I encourage you to live like a dime and see the impact it can make in your personal and professional life. 💰💪 #InternationalWomensDay #LiveLikeADime

Connecting deeply with donors is an art and a science. At its core? Understanding what compels someone to give, then creating an intimate conversation between purpose-aligned friends. Here are 5 strategies to put this into practice: 1. Know Who They Are - Study donor history, detecting trends revealing motivations and communication preferences. It’s the blueprint for relevant messaging. 2. Personalize Outreach - Don't let your appeals be generic. Use names, highlight past gifts, and describe what your donors money is used for 3. Be Timely - Rapid donation acknowledgement conveys respect and sets the tone for future interactions by showing you honor their generosity. 4. Communicate Regularly - Ongoing updates sustain awareness and emotional investment between asks by spotlighting impact. Demonstrate what goes on between the giving. 5. Use Multiple Channels - Email, social media, and phone calls offer unique tailored engagement openings. Pursue supporters across platforms to maximize connection. Welcome your donors into your community. Allow them to become partners in your cause and share in the impact. They'll reward your organization and enhance your mission. #Directmailfundraising #donorrelations #socialimpact

Great mid-level donor insights in this piece: 90% of midlevel donors surveyed intend to give again, 31% have made a planned gift, 23% intend to make a planned gift and 20% have DAFs. Worth the read/download from The Chronicle of Philanthropy for deeper insights as we shape our individual giving strategies. https://lnkd.in/gBuDEmFw

A few golden nuggets from the How to Create a Modern Donor Journey Panel during the Responsive Non Profit Summit... "donors don’t give TO our orgs, instead, they give THROUGH - to achieve goals dear to their heart. It’s about THEIR life story, values, & people . . . that lens should drive all communications & invitations to engage. .." "We do not make money we move money" "It makes a difference when we lead our thank you communications by focusing on WHO our donors are (generous, compassionate, etc.) rather than the gift (the transaction) . . . donors want to be seen & heard for who they are . . ." "invite donors to share their story or reason why they give... create ways to open up a conversation. This creates more connection." Feeling #blessed to be sharing this #virtual space today. #responsivenonprofitsummit #2024

Do people really make recurring gifts on #GivingTuesday? If they do, will asking for that kind of support hurt year-end fundraising totals? Are people willing to give on a recurring basis during the end of the year, or should you wait until the new year to ask for that kind of gift? We did a deep dive on recurring gifts during the end of the year and found: - Yes, people will initiate recurring gifts on GivingTuesday (it's actually quite popular!) - No, it won't hurt your year-end fundraising - Yes, your community will make recurring gifts during the end of the year On top of all that, Kelsey Kramer, Samir Khan, Annie Collins, and the rest of the team over at the GivingTuesday Data Commons shared insights from GivingPulse that paint a picture of the types of people who make recurring donations and what motivates them to do it. If you're looking for ways to reach new recurring donors this December, we wrote this resource for you. Let me know what you think!
