Good #packaging allows you to charge a premium and attract the right customer.... 🍸 Here's an example of how: I recently bought these mixers from SEPOY&CO. And as you can see, these are beautifully designed. They also cost lotta more than average mixers. But since they come in a great #PackagingDesign, I had no second thoughts about the price.... 🍷 The aesthetics of the #design language also helps it stand apart from competitors on the shelves. Even with all the flair, it is very readable and I know exactly what I'm buying. Plus the addition of cursive gives it a handmade feel. And these do taste great as well. Hello Connections 🤗, 𝐃𝐚𝐲 11/30:𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐜 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞-𝐈𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐩 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧 🍦✨ Another day, another delicious design! For 𝐃𝐚𝐲 11 of my 30 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞, I had the sweet task of creating a poster for 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐩 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧,an ice cream brand that promises 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐉𝐨𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐞! The aim was to create a design that instantly triggers cravings while being visually engaging and on-brand. 🍨🍫 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭: This design plays on the sensory experience of ice cream. Two scoops—𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚—sit like 𝐭𝐰𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬 of temptation, draped in ribbons of melted chocolate. The background flows with the same creamy indulgence, guiding the eye towards the call to action, 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐰 making it hard to resist. The goal? To transform a simple poster into an 𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 & 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Creating this design taught me a lot about the importance of texture and realism—getting the scoops and cones to look appetizing was crucial. I also realized how effective it is to add subtle motion, like the flowing chocolate, to guide the viewer's focus. Branding elements, such as the bear mascot and catchy slogan, helped to keep the tone light and family-friendly, while ensuring the call to action remained clear and engaging. Callouts on a package design may not always be aesthetically pleasing, but they are necessary in an overcrowded marketplace. Currently, I am working on a package design with recommended changes from a retailer. The recommended change: → make the callout more obvious. Will this change be 100% perfectly aesthetically pleasing for a brand built with a minimal aesthetic? Maybe not... But balancing form and function will always be MOST important when selling on a shelf next to many other similar products.
