When are we going to stop defining a career in the construction industry as a non traditional career path. Trades have been around long before any formal educational institute. I'll argue a career in the trades is traditional. We need to stop defining any career as traditional or non traditional. Some people are academically gifted and we need those people. Some people are gifted with the ability to build things we need those people. Why are we defining a persons gifts as "traditional" and "non traditional". Stop telling the next generation entering the work force that their career choice is traditional or non traditional. Let them choose what they love to do, support their choice and help educate them on the different career paths.
