🧠THOUGHT OF THE DAY: They sure don’t make #four-#cylinder #engines like they used to! 🚗💨 👉Toyota’s new 2.4L turbo engine packs a punch with 400 hp ⚡. You know, very un-like my old 90 hp #Ford Escort #Sunsport. (That was my first #car!) To put that in perspective, my 2000 #Corvette has 350 hp 🏎️, And my brother’s old ’84 #Camaro Z28 had less than 200 hp. "Why Toyota killed the V8 and V6. Replaced both with a V6 turbo (Tundra) 2020 and inline 4 turbo (Tacoma) 2024. Toyota is afraid of the American EPA - your gas millage ratings are bad, the ratings are BS, there is real gas millage rating and then there is EPA rating. That hardly anybody ever checks. There's only a small percentange that are actually tested. The rest is information that the manufactures give the governement. So they can put it on a DYNO. Set it up so it gets best gas millage, hey unless you're driving your car on a DYNO on your trips you actually don't get anywhere you just sit there. When in your in the real world the gas millage goes down. As much as 30% from there estimations especially with a four cylinder turbo. Fake gas millage ratings when it comes to the EPA ratings." ~ SK

The appearance of the Pontiac GTO in 1964 marked the beginning of a new milestone of the American car industry, which would later be called the era of "oilcars". During the decade, a lot of powerful cars with V8 engine appeared in the USA at quite affordable price. These cars were very popular, but new environmental standards and gasoline crisis ruined them. And relatively recently, in the mid-2000s, American "maslkars" reappeared on public roads. American "maslcars" new renaissance Dodge Challenger Demon The sunset of the era of classic "maslcars" came in 1974. The decline occurred as a result of the introduction of stricter environmental regulations, rising fuel and insurance costs. As a result, manufacturers had to seriously reduce the output of their engines. For example, in 1975 the power of the 5.7-liter V8 Chevrolet Camaro was a measly 145 hp. And this was not the only example, all American manufacturers suffered. In the early 80's there were still Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird and the same Camaro on the market. But they presented their pale copies, with motors not exceeding 200 hp. A pleasant exception was 1987 Buick GNX with V-shaped turbo-six with 276 hp.
