We believe our work has an impact on our community. This is something we take very seriously. At D.M. Wills our definition of community is vast yet specific: Community is the place, the Towns and Cities, where our team member live and work; Community is the people that we impact daily through our teams’ work both inside and outside the office. Community is a commitment to our team members to foster an work environment where they can be their best and have maximum impact. Building communities goes beyond physical structures to involve the sense of belonging a community holds. Not just buildings, but places where people feel safe, comfortable, and at home. People’s “third spaces” — another place outside of home and work where they belong. At Wills, we understand the importance of maintaining a positive and harmonious relationship with our community and we do our best day in and out to making a lasting positive impact on each community.

Vancouver, WA has a fantastic community vibe about it. Everywhere you look they mention city/community pride and togetherness. When you give a community a voice. When you give them a vehicle to express themselves. When you give them “old world values” and “new world technology”, you build bridges within communities. Bridges between groups of people. Bridges between groups of ideas. Bridges between age groups. Bridges between brilliant ideas. You don’t have to do the work you just need to connect people, companies, visions, dreams. Who’s doing this in your town? Who’s igniting the community? Who’s bringing together associations and groups and ideas into action? Why couldn’t you or your company do this for your community. Your staff. Their families. Your clients and their businesses. Everything to do with why you are in business to start with. You can do this 😁🤙

In the realm of urban planning and community development, one often overlooked yet powerful element is the role that light plays in enhancing safety. As cities evolve and grow, prioritising the implementation of effective lighting can significantly contribute to creating secure and thriving communities. Adequate lighting is fundamental for ensuring visibility in public spaces. The impact of light on community safety extends far beyond the physical act of illumination. It shapes the very fabric of our neighbourhoods, influencing how residents interact with their surroundings and with each other. By recognising the transformative power of light, communities can proactively not only enhance safety but also contribute to the overall well-being and vitality of the places we call home. As we continue to envision the cities of the future, let us prioritise the essential role that thoughtful lighting plays in creating safer, more resilient, and connected communities.

Social Entrepreneur | Founder & CEO Commonlands | Empowering underserved communities with secure land rights and credit delivery.
A single voice might be ignored, but a chorus of voices crying for change is hard to silence. We all know that feeling of wanting to make a difference, but sometimes the challenges seem too big. That's where “community” comes in. It's an innovative approach that turns individual passion into collective action, and collective action into real impact. For instance, you see a neglected park in your neighborhood. It has become a place of litter and crime. You could sigh and walk on by, hoping someone else will fix it. Or, you could gather your neighbors, share your concerns, and brainstorm solutions. Together, you could organize a clean-up day, plant trees, and advocate for better lighting. What would happen next? The neglected park would become a vibrant community hub. That’s what people can achieve when they work together. This is a major concept we used in Commonlands to revolutionize land documentation and credit delivery. Would you like to know how it works? What’s your experience with community building?

Community involvement plays a pivotal role in making informed real estate decisions. Engaging with the community offers a deeper understanding of the area's dynamics, from school quality to neighborhood safety and local amenities. It's about more than just finding a house; it's about discovering a place where you can truly belong. Getting involved means attending local events, joining neighborhood groups, and participating in community forums. These activities provide insights into the community's spirit and values, information you won't find in a brochure or online listing. They also offer opportunities to hear firsthand experiences from residents, giving you a clearer picture of what life is really like in the area. Moreover, community involvement can reveal future development plans, potential issues, and unique advantages of living in a particular neighborhood, guiding you to a decision that aligns with your lifestyle and long-term goals. In essence, the more connected you are to a community, the more informed your real estate decisions will be. This connection ensures that your investment goes beyond the property line, embedding you within a community that supports your aspirations and way of life. #CommunityEngagement #InformedDecisions #RealEstateInsights #NeighborhoodWatch #LocalLiving #HomeBuyingTips #CommunityFirst #DeniseRizkalla
