Mistake #6 of “17 Common Mistakes Made by Nonprofits and How to Address Them”: Your nonprofit does not know what is driving it to want to fundraise. This is more common than you think! What are the nonprofit's aspirations, or funding gaps, or both? What are the out-of-the-starting-gate needs (e.g. scholarship, current and future programming, building space, larger capital reserves, etc.)? A good topic to focus on in 2025. And, how is it all tied to the overarching strategy? Also, remember that the last three days of the year are the biggest days of giving, so please consider posting about your nonprofit today and tomorrow to remind donors to think of you when making their end-of-year donations!
