An entry for black history month. A great read about one of my She-roes, Tina Turner. My thoughts after reading: Legacy starts now and requires self-awareness and a positive view of humanity. When you are black, we dig deep to find it. But, it all cannot be done alone and it’s difficult to watch people in positions of power and influence demonstrate that both are apparently WILDLY illusive for them since the odds remain stacked against us. Yet, we still rise—like Tina. While this gives us all hope, we cannot ignore the need to reflect that the road to greatness is littered with the systemic race-based barriers that stood (and stand) in the way. This is why Black History Month matters, and must cause us to think about what true Allyship has to look like. #LearnCreateAchieve
