Many things happen when a company turns 7. As I have found out in recent weeks, exit intent is one of those items. #khyanafi must have triggered the "company age" attribute. From generic emails stating, "Are you thinking of exiting? We have helped many founders" to "We work with investors looking for their portfolio expansion, and one of our clients is interested in acquiring your firm" to "We are interested in investing in Khyanafi" - the emails keep coming in. Here is how I respond to these messages. "No. We are not looking to sell and get out or looking for investors. We may choose to buy a few companies in 2025. I will contact you when we need help there." #workisthereward, and these messages and the recent addition of several #corpsultants only strengthen the resolve that we are collectively building something good with #corpsulting. There is a need for talent with know-how, experience, leadership tenure, and agility without admin overheads who can partner with CXOs and leaders in a leader-doer capacity. Having worked with multiple startups and also few technically cool organisations, I have noticed few common patterns across them: - If we hire the right team, they don't need to be told how to do their job (and if we end up telling them that, we are probably not doing our job)! - Smart Leaders worry more about their teams, than their customers (coz happy teams will eventually take best care of customers). - Not everyone in a team are extrovert, and not necessarily only extroverts do great work! So, always take good care of team, irrespective of who talks more or less. #lifeslesson #commonsense #movingahead #weekendcalling

I used to believe that mature brands/companies offer better services or products. It is valid for product-centric companies to some extent because it requires refinement through iteration. In the service case, start-ups and small/mid-size firms easily outperform big firms because of their super-fast response time, learning agility, and customer-centric approach. Big firms want to behave like start-ups, but this is not possible because of the underlying bureaucracy and strict processes/contracts. If you want to appreciate a start-up, please work with or recommend them. That’s only how society evolves. I respect and wish all the start-up leaders well. Cheers!!
