#REACH is an European Union regulation adopted to improve the protection of both human health and #environment from the risks resulting from #chemicals, in particular SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern). The challenge is to define effective alternative processes in replacement of the affected ones. MAGROUP Special Process companies in line with REACH regulation at the moment are in the EU #MetalSud (Italy) and outside #Tecnickrome (Canada) and #Nu-Pro (UK). We consider the following processes and products as the most promising REACH compliant technologies for the replacement of the current process affected by the SVHC list: ·      for steel: passivation; ZnNi; HVOF; ·      for aluminum: SAA - Sulphuric Acid Anodizing. Work completed by MRD under the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) SBIR program, contract no. 68HERC24C0030, was recently published in Rubber World Magazine. MRD demonstrated that the use of MR with additional loadings of TMQ and protective waxes and no 6PPD perform the same, or better, than typical tire sidewall compounds with 6PPD & carbon black reinforcement.
