Most investors in #reits #listedrealestate are familiar with the fact that correlation of reits to general #equities falls rapidly beyond holding periods of say 1 year (black line) and reits correlate more closely with underlying real estate assets over time. This is clear evidence that investors should not apply general equity market #factors when seeking exposure to indexed or systematic processes or structured information in listed real estate allocations and instead should target specific factors relevant to the sector.
