When did you learn how to be an effective communicator at work? For me, it took years to feel confident and safe enough to speak up and speak out. What about project management? Or negotiation? I had the luxury of learning these skills thanks to helpful bosses and mentors. For countless youth today, they simply don't have that same web of developmental support to hone those skills or navigate those difficult situations when they're having to choose between work and school or juggling multiple minimum wage jobs. This is why I started Envision Your Pathway, a local nonprofit that strives to equip youth with the dynamic skills, confidence, and community building to pursue their own pathways and persist.
