CEO, co-founder at Kaizen Food Company

Last week, I joined an incredible group of CPG Founders in Toronto (thank you Nick Gibson for bringing us together!) Entrepreneurship can be a challenging journey, and navigating the CPG landscape requires us to constantly reconcile the needs of our customers, satisfy retailer requirements, and ensure the brand's profitability and long-term viability. Some of my key learnings: Capturing Retailer Attention: we discussed and debated the art of making our brand stand out to merchants and buyers. It's not just about having a great product, but how you present it to those who can put it in front of customers. Thank you Monica Walker for sharing your wisdom here. Healthy Margins Matter: Got some real insight into managing margins effectively. In the CPG space, it's crucial to balance costs and pricing to keep customers and retailers engaged. Thank you Iram Blajchman for sharing your insights. Innovation Beyond Product: Today's market demands that we be creative not only in what we make but also in how we reach our audience. It's all about finding new, engaging ways to connect with consumers. And nobody does this better than the team at MDS. A huge thanks to Jake Karls for inspiring me with his approach. Our journey is about continuously improving, which is why we named our company Kaizen - it stands for continuous improvement. I hope you are able to take time to connect with others in your field. This community has helped me sharpen my focus, think more creatively, and inspired.
