Tip of the day for executives: one of the relevant points during expansion into new markets is visiting specialized conferences! On this expansion phase, more than new customers, the greatest value obtained is the real-time feedback on the real possible value that will be added by your company/product for the market in question. Of course, you can always send your sales team to the event, but if you don't go, you miss out on the chance to talk to potential customers and access that valuable data that can confirm market fit research previously carried out by your team or reveal peculiar characteristics that must be designed for the specific market. #AOM2024 Panel Symposium: Towards an Integrated Perspective: Synergies and Trade-Offs in the Repertoire of Nonmarket Strategy In today’s rapidly evolving nonmarket environments, firms engage in a wide range of sociopolitical activities, including corporate political activities (#CPA), corporate social responsibility (#CSR) initiatives, and corporate sociopolitical #activism. However, the intricate relationships among these components of non-market strategy remain underexplored. For example, • How do firms contend with mounting scrutiny over perceived #decoupling between their lobbying, campaign contributions, and other types of CPA and their CSR/ESG principles? • How do potential spillover effects of #multinational firms’ sociopolitical engagements across jurisdictions, and the diverse nonmarket landscapes in which these firms are situated, influence multinationals’ optimal configuration of CPA, CSR, and activism? • How might salient features of organizational #structure — such as the the degree of coordination between community affairs and government affairs units — impact how firms receive and communicate nonmarket interests with diverse stakeholders? • How do broader sociopolitical transformations—including rising affective #polarization and changing regulations over CPA (e.g., the rise of #darkmoney)—generate strategic complementary or substitution amongst different types of CPA, CSR, and activism?
