Eating fruit while on a weight loss journey? It depends how! 🍏🍌🍓 There’s so much talk about glucose and blood sugar spikes that many people ask me about this. The natural sugars in fruits come bundled with essential nutrients, fiber, and antioxidants. Thanks to the fiber, the fructose is absorbed gradually, not causing huge blood sugar spikes. Opt for whole fruits over juices, as juices don’t contain the fiber to slow down the absorption of sugar during digestion. Not all fruits are equal: Low sugar fruits: berries, kiwi, watermelon, grapefruit or papaya High sugar fruits: grapes, bananas, dates, pineapple, mango (have them in moderation) For effective and lasting weight loss, it’s good to take a break from fruit from time to time.
