Reflecting on a New School Year: Leadership, Purpose, and Contribution As I begin a new school year with Alliance College-Ready Public Schools, I find myself reflecting on the traditions and experiences that have profoundly shaped our community and my leadership journey. 10 years ago, a bold vision was brought to life by Dr. Naomi Adjepong. She left behind a successful medical career in England, moving to Ghana to launch what would become the Adinkrahene Leadership Program(ALP) at Alpha Beta Education Centres. Little did she know that this decision would not only shape the future of so many young lives but also create a ripple effect that continues to impact entire communities. As someone who has been part of this incredible journey, I’ve seen firsthand how ALP has transformed students into leaders—equipping them with skills that go far beyond the classroom. Entrepreneurial leadership is more than just teaching students to build businesses. It’s about helping them become adaptable, creative, and resilient individuals who can navigate life’s complexities. I remember when I first got involved with ALP, thinking how different this program was from traditional education. It wasn’t just about academics; it was about preparing students to thrive in an ever-evolving world. Through service learning, reflection, and hands-on experiences, students were encouraged to take ownership of their growth and become agents of change. Tomorrow, I’m honored to continue this mission by speaking to our young leaders at 8 AM at the AB MP Centre, where we’ll dive into the theme “Preparing for the Future.” This is such a critical topic because, while the future is full of opportunities, success will only come to those who are ready for it. As we celebrate 10 years of ALP, I’m reminded of the power of a vision and what can happen when you commit to making a lasting difference.
