THE ROMAN FORUM 60AD: Today and yesterday I've been working on this image of the Roman Forum, It was much more challenging than I thought, because, like Ephesus, there's a well-known layer of archaeology from 300 AD or even 100 AD and all the information and images default to that. I had to take some pictures from 100 AD and some from about 50 BC and go through any buildings that weren't in both and check when they were built. Case in point, the Colosseum wasn't built until 72 AD and would be in the background at a later date. #Bible #biblestudy #biblecomic #biblecomics #biblecomicbook #biblecomicbooks #comics #bibleillustrations #biblicalart #christianart #christian #niv #nivbible #graphicnovel #graphicnovels #christiancomics #bibleillustrations #archeology #biblearcheology #biblicalarcheology #history #ancienthistory #biblehistory

I’m thrilled to announce the publication of my new book, Anticosti: Quebec’s Enigmatic Island. This work has been a labor of love, combining my passion for archaeology, cultural heritage, and environmental history. Anticosti Island, often called the “forgotten gem” of Quebec, is a place of breathtaking beauty and deep historical significance. Through this book, I delve into the island’s rich past, exploring its archaeological sites, Indigenous heritage, and the fascinating interplay of natural and human histories that have shaped its identity. This book is not only a celebration of Anticosti’s unique legacy but also a call to action to protect and preserve such invaluable cultural and environmental treasures. I hope Anticosti: Quebec’s Enigmatic Island inspires a deeper appreciation for our shared history and encourages thoughtful stewardship of the past. If you’re interested in learning more or would like to discuss the themes of the book, feel free to reach out. Let’s continue the conversation about the importance of preserving our heritage for future generations. 📖 Available soon! #AnticostiIsland #CulturalHeritage #Archaeology #Conservation #QuebecHistory #NewBook

One of the most common items found at archaeological sites is pottery. Believe it or not, these sherds of clay can tell us a great deal about the age and use of a site, as well as the lifestyles of the people who lived and worked there; including what they ate, grew and traded with other cultures. In fact, pottery is one of the most useful finds in archaeology. How much pottery have you found lurking in your back garden or local area, and what have you been able to infer from studying it? #archaeology #heritage #heritageconsultancy #pottery #digging #potsherds
