Path to the Healthcare Holy Grail “One of the things I’ve noticed is that many entrepreneurs envision the same end-state. They want to be the AI advocate and doctor that is always on and personalized to everyone who uses the service. The way they plan to get there is by accumulating large datasets on customers through a variety of different mechanisms: biomarkers through bloodwork, diagnostics and scans, self-reported information, wearable and sensor data, etc. It’s a very unique moment in time where a lot of founders share a similar vision but have very different approaches to get there. I think it’s important that whichever approach a founder takes, they must build a good business along the way. Not everyone is going to get to the holy grail, but a lot of people can build great companies while they try.” More here: https://lnkd.in/eehqq5F8

9moSuch a good read. I have doubled down on health care the past 3 years. My take: DTC brands underestimate the important role of a) employers and b) third-party administrators of health plans who serve them. I got really interested in Health-E Commerce (FSA Store and HSA Store) because they work with TPAs to bring consumer brands to employees and integrate in the benefits touch points. 100% eligible products for FSA and HSA since that is their focus. (It is too expensive for brands to go DTC solo and I suspect we will see consolidation. Especially since a lot don't take insurance and people want to use insurance if they have it and things are covered).
