An energized and present weekend in Toronto at ADCCs. Incredible to watch people I love, friends, and clients, challenge themselves and experience the highs and lows that come along with growth and competition. Reflections: ⭐️ having a team and letting yourself lean on them is a SKILL athletes (and everyone else) can build— yes— your individual tenacity takes you far, but alliances change the journey’s potential ⭐️ don’t leave things in the refs’ decisions does NOT just mean “always go for subs/an undeniable victory”… it also means set standards of success and excellence that cannot be determined by a scoreboard ⭐️ you and you alone choose your perspective and mindset — what choices on that actually lead to more of what you want?

Collaborate: Because Together, We Achieve the Extraordinary! Ever noticed how a single melody can be beautiful, but a symphony is breathtaking? That's the power of collaboration; multiple minds, diverse ideas, coming together. It's not just about working side by side, but truly blending our strengths. Because when we unite, we create solutions bigger and better than any of us alone. "So, next time you're faced with a challenge, remember: two heads (or more!) are often better than one." #PowerOfCollaboration #StrengthInUnity #CollaborateToElevate #UniteAndConquer #wegweiser #CareerNavigator

I was ecstatic to receive a 'Star Marv' award at our company Marv Alert last week. Every quarter, Marvel Medical Staffing holds a company-wide meeting to update the employees on all things Marvel and to recognize a few people 🌟 Our leadership team votes on 4-5 individuals to present our 'Star Marv' to based on attitude, efforts, aligning with company values, etc. Employee recognition and communication are important pieces of creating a healthy environment. This aligns perfectly with all our company values: 🧠 Mindset - Establishing a strong focus on action, growth, and learningin order to drive positive results. 🥇 Accountability - Taking transparent ownership of our decisions and actions, both personally and professionally. 🧡 Rehumanizing - Cultivating an organization that prioritizes the health and well-being of healthcare professionals, clients, and our employees. 🔍 Vision - Inspiring innovative and strategic thinking to adapt to an evolving industry and embrace new ideas. 💬 Equity - Fostering inclusion and support to create fair opportunities for all. 📣 Listening - Giving value to another's words and ideas. Listening to hear - not just to respond - creates an empowering culture of teamwork. #lovewhereyouwork #mindset #accountability #rehumanizing #vision #equity #listening #culture #MARVELousCommunity

2024 System Change; Change begins in our Home, Communities and our Education system; People Before Products. Welcoming Committee It is a multidimensional concept. Is where we define ourselves -Who we believe ourselves to be. Welcome is like coming Home; Home is the place where you share culture and tradition. Home is where your body and mind feels it belongs, protected, loved. Home is not simply where we live; it's a state of mind where you feel most at peace. There is nothing more important than a place you feel good, safe, to feel more grounded and secure. A place where we can go as we are and not be questioned because your ideas or attitudes are the same as those of the people who live there. The place where you feel in control and properly oriented in space and time; It is a predictable and secure place, is the primary connection between you and the rest of the world. Welcome; Home, is a place you grow up wanting to leave, and grow old wanting to get back to. Home that our feet may leave, but your hearts forever stay. Home is where the heart is, the roots are.

TIME2B- Do not freeze in time. Mirrors are the reflection light of your judgement. Most leaders are made rather than born. A leader’s true nature or character is revealed by their actions or the results of their efforts. Have a vision for recognizing the value of creativity in the workforce, take time to reflect as a problem solver. Workforce is constantly shifting. Good leaders are those who talk about what needs to happen and then do something about it or have a bias for action. A tree is known for its fruit. As a leader is led by empathy. Helping yourselves in the house before others. Full circle of trees begins with Love, Give and Giving. Inside the box looking out-Play favorites, lean into conflict, do just for the big and glorious groups or are just plain difficult by not helping those small & family businesses in need. For most, those little guys on the bottom of the food chain ( and or in rural communities) are your taxpayers and also their the enter level job creators. Outside the box looking in-Helping hands. Helping others by giving. Giving is when you have extra to give. Judging, seeming from inside the box, when your box is empty and broken how can you lead and hold others accountable.

As Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Advocate at The World Bank I am always interested in learning about what builds greater tolerance and respect in the work place. With 170 nationalities, the World Bank is one of the most diverse institutions in the world -- and this certainly makes it a rich and fun place to work! But our diversity can also lead to cultural misunderstandings and tensions. This week we celebrated Intercultural Week 2024 with a focus on Neuroscience and Cultural Intelligence in Navigating Emerging Global Crises. I joined an excellent session with Dr. Mai Nguyen of Culture Move on “From Survival to Thrival: How does the Brain deal with Cultural Differences?" Her main thesis is that to overcome differences we need to: 1/focus on similarities (shared values, concerns...), 2/focus on how differences can be presented in a neutral and objective way (avoiding inflammatory language often present in the media), and 3/focus on the individual (humanize numbers, listen empathetically...). All great reminders that we are more similar than we are different, and that we gain from recognizing what unites us rather than what divides us. As an illustration, Dr. Nguyen shared this Heineken ad "Worlds Apart" which says so much about how powerful and joyful we are when we connect across our differences. A good watch! https://lnkd.in/ekWhUXdd Many thanks to Edna Diez Ruihua Dong for a great event and for challenging us to think about ways to celebrate our diversity and make the most of our cultural richness. https://lnkd.in/e33UBa-h
