The philosophy of cooling 💡 Some people think philosophy is too theoretical to practically apply to modern challenges. The CultCryo Project is a wonderful counter-example! Artificial cooling shapes our world, and yet too many take cooling and its impact for granted. Technische Universität Darmstadt now is a part of the CultCryo Project, which aims to map the geography and history of the Cryosphere in order to better understand it in order to grow in a more intentional way. Learn more about this 10 million euro research project funded by the European Union and European Research Council (ERC) here: https://lnkd.in/ednMFtgA MAGNOTHERM envisions a future where cooling is sustainable and efficient, limiting the environmental impact. CultCryo Collaborators: Alexander Friedrich TUDa/ZfL, Suzana Alpsancar Paderborn University, Stefan Höhne University of Duisburg-Essen, Bronwyn Parry The Australian National University. Thanks to Prof. Oliver Gutfleisch for sending this our way! c/o Dr. Patrick Honecker (CCO | TUDa) #cryosphere #cooling #refrigeration #climateimpact #airconditioning #climatecrisis #research #philosophy #coldchains #coldstorage #culturalpractice #coldcrisis #airconditioning

🎤 MAGNOTHERM has been busy this summer! We had stellar news coverage in Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung on premiering magnetic cooling in a customer-facing setting for the very first time at EDEKA Patschull! Lebensmittel Zeitung covered the tech's potential in supermarkets and interviewed the franchise owner, Daniel Patschull on how it's going (it's wholly without problems). Then #POLARIS took a break from all the interviews and went to @Labor Tempelhof for a VIP seat at a #DieÄrzte concert. #POLARIS cooled down Cradle to Cradle NGO volunteers running this sustainable music festival and impressed over 60,000 concert-goers a day in the Cradle Village. We hope your summer was as refreshing and productive as ours. There's a lot coming up this fall for us, and we can't wait to bring all of you cooling enthusiasts along for the ride! Did you know that in the 3 years' time since MAGNOTHERM first ran a #POLARIS, we've been adding up the total runtime of all the devices? It's adding up fast! With so many POLARIS beverage coolers out in the world, especially this year, our total runtime on all of them is approaching 7 years! Let's put this in context: magnetic cooling was only successfully demonstrated 17 years ago at DTU - Technical University of Denmark. Now, we're commercializing it. #MAGNOTHERM #techtuesday

Have you already heard whispers of our newest #leadership team member? Recently, our leadership team grew by one! We're excited to officially announce that Nadia von Oesterreich joined MAGNOTHERM's leadership team, our first non-founder member to move to the top of the company. Get to know Nadia: Nadia's role is titled Head of People and Culture, meaning she's responsible for developing and implementing strategies to foster a positive company culture, support employee growth, and prepare our company for its next growth phase. Before joining the #magnoteam, Nadia worked in Business Innovation and UX Community Management at Deutsche Bahn, as well as other freelance and volunteer positions. Though she's lived and worked in many different countries and has an international background, Nadia is originally from Frankfurt! She studied Strategic Design and Management at the Parsons School of Design in New York City. Beyond HR: Nadia ensures our company remains an attractive workplace and promotes an inclusive and productive work environment. For any young company like ours, staff and management issues are one of the primary causes of hardship and failure. Lifting a people and culture position to a senior role was an intentional decision to promote healthy company growth and build towards a strong future. Remarks from founders: CEO Timur SİRMAN says of elevating People and Culture to leadership: "My father was a CEO and often said that there are no task-related problems, only people-related problems. As with every human relationship, conflicts arise and need to be addressed. Unaddressed conflicts not only cause an uncomfortable work environment but also make the company less productive. People and Culture is not only about benefits and hiring but deeply tied into company strategy, making it perfect as a central topic for leadership." Remarks on Nadia: COO Maximilian Fries: "As we have grown over the last five years, it's become clear that a leadership team with only tech backgrounds was too narrowly focused and lacked diversity of perspective. Elevating Nadia as a person, and elevating people and culture as a role, is an asset to the company." Timur adds: "With Nadia, we have found a great person to take on this role. Her business, as well as people-centric background in combination with her entrepreneurial mindset and empathic abilities both, complements the leadership team as well as strengthens our company values." Join us in congratulating and celebrating Nadia! 💚 #MAGNOTHERM #peopleandculture

On Friday, the #magnoteam gathered after a team workshop for a grill-out night to watch the Euros game! ⚽ Our #teamworkshop began with the question of how we can work together better. The idea grew into a workshop on the intersections of different personality types at work. We were surprised to find out who considers themselves an introvert, extrovert, or somewhere in between. Expanding on our company value of “the best idea wins,” we proposed new ways to run meetings to accommodate all our thinking styles. Our Head of People and Culture, Nadia von Oesterreich, planned and ran the session, bringing us insights we'll be thinking about for some time. After the workshop, it was time to relax and watch the big game. We're putting in a lot of hard work this year, making it even more important to unwind together. Staff brought their partners, families, and friends to the back garden, and the grill was fired up. From new teammates to old, we all got to know each other better by uniting over football. One of the perks of being a part of an international team was that between the Germany-Spain game and the Portugal-France game, we had supporters on all sides. Thanks for the great Friday, #magnoteam! 💚 #MAGNOTHERM

Did you see us in Bloomberg? 📰 If we built heating and cooling from scratch today, there's no way we'd invent compressor tech. It's a relic from the industrial revolution that's bad for the planet and energy inefficient. Our COO, Maximilian Fries, sat down for a chat with Olivia Rudgard to talk about alternative cooling technologies and how magnetic cooling could be a future solution for a better heat pump technology. Read on here, and learn about our solution (and others)! #MAGNOTHERM

MAGNOTHERM was back in Berlin last week at Innovationstag Mittelstand 2024. Our Business Development Manager Juan Stockermans, alongside the POLARIS beverage cooler, rocked the show on stage and at our booth at #innotag2024. Of this event, Juan said: "I was able to pitch in front of a big crowd and have an interview with a local news channel (all in German!). Even one of our new magnofans, Robert Habeck, was there and remembered us from HANNOVER MESSE. Lots of different people came by the stand and spoke with me about the technology and the different innovations and products we are building. Overall the day was full of good conversations and lots of sunny weather." We're grateful to have had the opportunity to shine at this event! #sogehtzukunft
