This alien species finds its value after getting it out of the water. Water hyacinth has no value in the water. It creates a menace to the water bodies. Value addition can be done to it after getting the plant out. Water hyacinth stems contain many properties that are equivalent to the materials used in the textile industry. We at WITCHCRAFT in collaboration with MIT College Loni are trying to find out whether this material can be used for architectural purposes. 🌿
The story of water hyacinth continues...!!

Investigating Ancient Textiles - Where do you even start? With Juliet Graver Istrabadi and Ilaria Serafini Thursday, October 24th, 2024 - 11am ET. How do you start investigating ancient textiles, when you are not even sure where to start? What kind of materials are they made from? Is there any information in those materials that would help identify a geographic place or date for the origin of the materials (if not the textiles themselves)? Are there any tests or analytical procedures that can shed any light on the weaving or making process? If possible tests or procedures are known, how does one set up such tests? What is needed? Is sampling necessary? If so, what size would the samples need to be? What are the costs involved? Join ABM today and attend this Members only event to discuss these questions and more! https://lnkd.in/dwdaaDAS

POST 01 #Venezia #Fondazione_Querini_Stampalia #Carlo_Scarpa I am publishing for you these videos relating to the fountains created by the architect Carlo Scarpa inside the garden of the Querini Stampalia Foundation, in Venice.
