World Aquatic Animal Day was created to raise awareness about the importance of aquatic animals to our societies and ecosystems. Due to human activities, these animals are often at risk either through direct interaction or habitat degradation. Aquatic animals include fish, molluscs, crustaceans, birds, starfish, corals, insects, mammals, and reptiles. They play a vital role in maintaining a healthy planet, but many people lack knowledge about them, which leads to their overconsumption, neglect, and abuse. The theme this year is “The Impact of Our Human Activities on Aquatic Animals.” It's essential to raise awareness of how we affect aquatic life. World Aquatic Animal Day aims to create policies, laws, education, and outreach to protect these valuable animals. The best way to help is to limit your use of plastics since microplastic pollution is one of the biggest threats to aquatic animals. ~ YES to generate environmental conservation concerns throughout the island ~ #worldaquaticanimalday2024 #aquaticanimals #savemarinelife #YES #mahaviradesigns

Today as we celebrate 🌍World Aquatic Animal Day💦 let’s take a moment to understand and appreciate the unfathomable diversity that falls within the scope of ‘aquatic life’. 🐠 Going far beyond fish, it includes the majestic whales 🐳, playful dolphins 🐬, turtles, vibrant corals, mollusks and crustaceans of the oceans and the freshwater megafauna like hippos 🦛, as well as crocodiles 🐊, birds 🦅 and amphibians 🐸 of our rivers and wetlands. The extent of aquatic biodiversity is virtually endless and the single biggest threat to all aquatic life is loss of habitat due to various forms of pollution. It is up to all of us to protect and conserve these invaluable ecosystems, ensuring a brighter future for all types of aquatic life as well as our own health and well-being. The solution is within our grasp. Join us as we pledge to do everything possible to safeguard these vital aquatic habitats for generations to come. 🌿💧💙 #WildTomorrow #WorldAquaticAnimalDay #ProtectOurEcosystems #ProtectRestoreRewild #AquaticConservation #Aquaticlife

Earth Day is coming up soon, a day that supports environmental protection. I thought I would remind us of this important day and cause with the red panda - one of my favourite animals. The red panda is largely endangered due to the loss of the forests that it lives in which provide shelter and food. Let's make positive change and strive for harmony. Find out what you can do and start today. #redpanda #wildlifeart #natureart #animalportrait

🦀 World Aquatic Animal Day 🐠 Aquatic animals play a vital role in a healthy ecosystem: they recycle nutrients, purify water, maintain a balanced food web underwater, and so much more! However, our modern lifestyle's impact on aquatic living beings can be disastrous: from plastic pollution and water contamination, to overfishing and illegal fishing, these diverse animals face plenty of threats. 🔑 So let's think about the little things we can all do to help protect our aquatic animals. From recycling to responsible pet ownership, all those positive choices add up on a local or even global scale. #sealife #aquatic #marineamimals #lakes #oceans #rivers #wildlifeconservation #protectouroceans #seaturtles #sharks #fish #msc

🌍 The Hidden Costs of Oil Spills: A Call for Collective Action 🌊 Oil is a crucial energy source driving our progress and prosperity. However, its production and transportation come with significant environmental risks. Recent major oil spills have led to devastating impacts, including the death of approximately 🐦 82,000 birds across 102 species, around 🐢 6,165 sea turtles, up to 🐬 25,900 marine mammals, 🐟 and countless fish. Beyond these tragic figures, oil and diesel spills disrupt aquatic ecosystems in profound ways. They interfere with photosynthesis in aquatic plants, hinder fish respiration, and diminish soil fertility—factors that directly affect agriculture and food security. For seven years, DISOL-ECO has been dedicated to rescuing wildlife affected by these disasters. Our mission is to protect and restore the natural world, but we need your help. We urge oil companies, animal welfare organizations, and NGOs to join forces in supporting these vulnerable creatures. Let’s work together to prevent further environmental damage and protect our planet. Watch this video: A child's smile, grateful for the rescue of a 🐶 beloved pet , is a powerful reminder of the impact we can make. Let’s unite to make a difference and offer our support to those in need. We represent eco-friendly technology that is transforming the world for the better. #Innovation #Technology #Life #GreenPeace #OilSpill #Entrepreneurship #Sustainability #FoodSecurity #EnvironmentalProtection #Collaboration #WildlifeConservation #EcoFriendly #NGOs #AnimalWelfare #ClimateAction #EnvironmentalJustice #ProtectOurPlanet #EcoTech

Florida state legislation is trying to push through a movement to eliminate state parks to construct golf courses, pickleball courts, and resorts. Florida is one of 36 global biodiversity hotspots, making it one of the most biologically diverse regions in the world. Biodiversity is important for many things, it increases ecosystem health, results in increase of species as a result of speciation, makes populations and species more resilient to impacts like climate change, duet change, and disease. Many species fulfill a niche that others cannot fill, creating gaps in services that cannot be filled. There are 29 species of bee endemic to Florida that are not found elsewhere in the world, 21 of them are pollinators, the remaining 8 are parasitic. Removing these natural areas will harm the entire ecosystem, soil, water, and air qualities, reduce populations of native fish, wildlife, and invertebrates, as well as local flora. It will harm the people, and the regional and global climate. Please sign the petition below from the Florida Wildlife Federation and tell representatives to protect Florida's state parks. https://lnkd.in/eV-NTcHk!

Wetlands are vital for maintaining a healthy planet and supporting diverse ecosystems. They contribute significantly to biodiversity, provide habitats for various plant and animal species, and act as natural buffers against floods. Wetlands also play a vital role in water purification and climate regulation and support recreational activities. However, they face threats from human activities. Protecting and restoring wetlands is essential to preserve these invaluable ecosystems for current and future generations.
