Dear Recruiters, let's not mix roles and assume there's a one-size-fits-all professional. Just as in medicine, there are various specialists – surgeons, dentists, dermatologists. Similarly, a Communication Manager isn't a master of all trades — social media, graphic design, video editing, photography, brand management, media buying, moderation, digital marketing, or SEO. It's good and recommended to know about these areas, but, each role has its expertise. So, can we start assessing and studying each role properly before posting job opportunities?

Employers should be very open about what they want from a SMM from the onset of employment. Mind you, most times they put out a job opening and state they just need a handler but when you are on the job, You are expected to... Design graphics Create&Edit video contents Send out news letters Cold pitch to clients Brainstorm marketing strategies Host live events on social media... The list is endless. My thought sometimes is... Why the deception in the job opening? There are talents out there like myself with all the skills required but I wonder why it is sometimes not stated in the job description. Any employer engaging in this act is merely "CHEATING" the employee. We are Social Media Managers. We love what we do. Do not reap us off. Thank you.

Transform Your Online Presence with Proven Results! 30+ Clients Served, 300% Average Social Media Growth, and Expert Content Writing, Graphic Designing, and Social Media Management Services to Drive Your Success
Effective self-introductions are crucial for making a positive impression and forging meaningful connections in professional settings. For instance, when Hassan Ozigis finds himself at a job interview for an administrative assistant position and is asked to tell about himself, it is not just an opportunity to mention his family background, car, or parental status. Instead, it is a chance for him to market and sell himself as his personal sales representative. A self-introduction like this could help him hit the mark: "Good morning, my name is Hassan Ozigis, and I am delighted to interview for the administrative assistant position. With over two years of diverse experience in roles such as Radio Broadcaster, On-Air Personality, Office Assistant, and Customer Service Assistant, I bring a unique blend of communication skills, customer service expertise, and administrative acumen to the table. My educational background in political science has equipped me with critical thinking abilities and analytical skills essential for excelling in this role. In my previous positions, I honed my organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced environments. I am eager to leverage my experience and knowledge to support your team and contribute to the efficient operation of your organization." The key strategies employed here include: - Begin with a polite greeting and a statement of your name and the position you are applying for. - Showcase relevant experience and skills aligned with the role. - Highlight educational background and its relevance. - Emphasize key, job-relevant skills. - Demonstrate potential contributions to the organization. It is essential to omit irrelevant information when introducing yourself in professional settings. Family background and personal loyalty are not pertinent here. Stick to the relevant details. These strategies have proven effective for me recently, and I am sharing them with you in hopes they will benefit you too. Is this helpful? If yes, drop a comment. - I am Hassan Adeiza Ozigis, a Content Writer, Graphic Designer, and Social Media Manager - your partner for the Distinctive Communication Solution that you and your brand need. #Contentwriter #Graphicdesigner #Socialmediamanager #Selfmarketing

Copywriter, Content Writer, Brand Voice Creator. Often mutters things like, “That doesn’t need an apostrophe.”
Advertising a job by posting the job spec is a bit like advertising crisps by publishing the list of ingredients. Sure, antioxidants may be an essential crisp ingredient, but they don't make for sexy advertising copy. No, you need Gary Linekar to be comically mugging people in the park for their crisps, or something. And that's what your job ad should be doing - attracting targeted people to your job. But writing an engaging, creative, appealing job ad takes skill and time, which you may not have. The Recruitment Cure is your solution. Having worked in recruitment for many years and written more job ads than I can remember, I've built my knowledge and process into the back end of this tool to give you an advert that speaks to your target candidates about their current situation and why they should apply for this role. Simply paste your job spec, and it will give you a summary of the job, your ideal candidate profile, two different versions of a job advert, and a list of preliminary interview questions. Want to give it a go for free? Just comment below or drop me a DM. #JobAd #JobAdvert #Recruitment #marketing #RecruitmentCopywriting #JobAdWriting

Observations in Hiring as the CEO of a Small Business - Part 1 At Lean Marketing, we've started looking to fill a critical role in our team, a new Marketing Consultant. We've only had to hire once for this role in 2 years as we've always promoted internally and it's important we get it right. Now, I hire marketing roles from coordinators to CMOs on a weekly basis, but it's rare that I get 750+ applicants for one role. It's been eye-opening, to say the least. Instead of just Slacking my leadership team with my WTF moments from the first round of applications, here they are: - Consultants are professionals who provide short-term expert help. So your last role shouldn't list 'marketing intern.' Or marketing coordinator. Or something completely unrelated to marketing. - When a company asks for at least 5 years of marketing implementation experience, maybe don't apply if you just graduated college. - If you list a past job as a copywriter, at least spell the word correctly. - While connecting and sending a personal message on LinkedIn is advised, trying to schedule a meeting or a chance to 'chat' is not helpful. I'm trying to give proper attention to 750 applications. If you want to make sure you get noticed in that first round, do any research on our company and write a cover letter-style message with something that isn't a generic request for a meeting. Part 2 tomorrow...

Would You Work For Free❓ If your #business asks experienced #marketing creatives to complete unpaid tasks, you'll miss out on a talent. 500 words isn't “just 500 words”. It's hours of research, writing and editing. Would you ask a #plumber to fix your toilet for free because you might refer them to your nan? 🚽 Didn't think so. Let’s stop this nonsense. #hiring #recruitment #careers #creativity

Contributing to Startups & Small Businesses Growth with Data-Driven Social Media Strategies and Digital Marketing Strategies | Content Writer and Creator | Digital Marketing Specialist | Storyteller
I recently came across a job posting that left me scratching my head. For me job posting breeds excitement and thrill, as it offers me insights into business owners needs and expectations. A small business is seeking to hire a single person to handle social media management which seems normal but the job description opened a new insight. Apparently, the business is seeking to monetize its YouTube channel, this will require a content creation, video editing, scriptwriting, and digital campaigns expert. I smiled for the reason that I have once handled a similar role and boy it was a rush. Jumping from platform to platform, writing, shooting, presenting... it was fun but in all that fun came creative fatigue. Yes, there are tools that help streamline the process yet it requires work to hit set goals. This begs the question; Is it more cost-effective to hire a jack-of-all-trades or a team of specialists? Imagine trying to write a science journal while editing a trending video and drawing a storyboard for the new shoot. It's possible, but the quality of each task will likely suffer. While it's tempting to cut costs by hiring a jack-of-all-trades, studies show that specialized teams often outperform generalists. 👌 When employees are focused on their specific roles, they can develop expertise and drive better results. Data has shown that businesses with specialized teams outperform businesses with generalists by 30%. By investing in team building and hiring the right talent, businesses can: 👉Increase productivity 👉Improve quality 👉Foster innovation So, dear business owners the next time you're considering hiring for a role, remember that a well-rounded team might be the best investment for your business's long-term success.🙏 My name is Genesis and I work with small businesses to scale up growth, social media visibility, engagement and sales. Send a message let's talk strategy for your business growth. #smallbusiness #socialmedia #ecommernce #digitalmarketing

Open Roles below, scroll down! You don’t get anything without asking. So ask. Hope for the Yes, but be prepared for the NO, and take it gracefully. The mistake I see is people are not asking : What is next step? What else can I do to show that I am right for this role? Am I someone you can see on your team? The other mistake is when they are told no. They bad mouth the company and blame the world. Don't let people remember you for the wrong reasons.
