Dear Job Seekers,
Hiring is a rigorous process that requires significant effort and resources. Crafting a detailed job description (JD) and posting it on various platforms incurs costs. Despite clearly outlining the job requirements, hundreds of applicants often apply regardless of whether they meet the eligibility criteria.
Recently, I posted a job on LinkedIn and received over 300 applications within two days. Astonishingly, nearly 200 of these applicants were already earning more than the salary offered in the job post. Imagine the effort required to call over 300 candidates individually, only to hear many of them say, "Sorry, I didn't read the JD. I am already getting a higher salary."
Furthermore, when scheduling interviews for those who meet the criteria, only a fraction actually show up. For instance, if we schedule 10 interviews a day, typically only 2 or 3 candidates attend, while the rest do not answer calls on the interview day. Adding to the frustration, some applicants straightforwardly decline the opportunity, stating they are not interested in a job change.
Is there really no respite?
