𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 After exploring MAISON ET OBJETS with its "SUR/REALITY" theme, plus galleries and fabric showrooms during Paris Deco Off, a few colors definitely stood out here. Here's a mix of what I noticed: 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘀 – Rich, bold, and timeless, these reds continue their presence from last year in Milan. Faye Toogood’s installation showcased this tone beautifully, setting a strong example. 𝗡𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝘀 – Not a surprise, as they’ve been strong since last year in Milan and Copenhagen, but the focus is becoming again more on natural earthy tones. They bring a calming and restorative vibe that still feels fresh. 𝗢𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 – Yellow tones are always shifting, and this year leaning into brownish ocher. It feels like a perfect fit for the nostalgic vibes. 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗹𝗲 – Seen at brands like DEDAR MILANO and FEST , this shade feels tied to digital and surreal themes. It pairs well with nudes, browns, or burgundy but feels more like a statement accent than a long-term player. 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗺 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 & 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗹 – While not as dominant as the others, these shades are quietly emerging. The teal has shifted to a more bluish hue, and denim blue feels very fresh and modern, especially on upholstry. Of course there were a couple of more, in case you’re curious for more insights, feel free to drop me a DM. #maisonetobjet #parisdesignweek #parisdecooff

To bring the emerging fashion brand’s vision to life while working within budget constraints, AB design studio started by establishing a simple yet refined design palette. Cool tones, efficient materials, and soft-edged forms were carefully selected to create a cohesive, modern aesthetic that complements the brand’s sleek, high-end women’s fashion. This thoughtful approach not only maximized the impact of the space but also aligned with the design challenge—delivering a sophisticated, high-end retail experience without exceeding budget limitations. . . . In a world where fast fashion and trends dominates, the demand for sustainable choices has never been more critical. At Vita Nordica we believe that sustainability is not just a trend—it's a commitment to creating a legacy. Inspired by the elegance of Nordic and Italian 1950s classics, our mission is to reinvent timeless furniture that resonates with modern aesthetics while prioritizing our planet is our mission. Sustainability for us goes beyond using eco-friendly materials or implementing circular design practices, though we certainly embrace both. It's about designing furniture that not only stands the test of time but also tells a story—stories of artisans who have dedicated their lives to mastering their crafts, and communities who thrive on traditional methods. Each piece we create is a nod to those craftspeople, keeping their artistry alive by integrating their techniques into our designs. But we are not lost in the past. Technology allows us to push boundaries. We experiment with unconventional shapes, textures, and finishes. Our designs have an edge – a contemporary twist that resonates with today’s discerning clientele. The Power of Lasting Design When we talk about sustainability, we often zoom in on the materials we use. While sourcing responsibly is crucial, we must also consider the longevity of our creations. A well-designed piece can be cherished for generations, becoming an integral part of family histories and change hands if needed and in that way save virgin materials for new furniture. Our commitment lies in crafting pieces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also durable and timeless. Artisanship at the Heart of Creating Classics In our quest to create new classics, we draw upon the rich heritage of craftsmanship passed down through generations. By working closely with skilled artisans, we are not only ensuring the quality of our products but also helping sustain local communities. These artisans bring their passion, history, and skill to each piece, infusing it with unique character and authenticity. When you choose our furniture, you're not just making a purchase; you're becoming a part of this legacy. You're supporting the artisans and designers who pour their hearts into every detail, keeping traditional techniques alive while also inspiring innovation in design. #Sustainability #Craftsmanship #TimelessDesign #NewClassics #FurnitureForGenerations #EcoFriendlyLiving #SupportLocalArtisans

This collection wasn’t just shown; it was felt. I used to think that everyone could spot good design... Turns out, not everyone notices the little details. But here's the thing -even if you don't have a trained eye, you can still feel it. Design profoundly influences our daily experiences, often in subtle yet impactful ways. Whether it’s the warmth of a cozy coffee shop, the energy of a perfectly lit gym, or the calm of a minimalist space, design isn’t just about aesthetics -it’s about the vibe it creates. Some people might not know why they feel drawn to a certain place, but they know it when they feel it. Zegna’s Fall 2025 collection in Milan stood out not only for its luxurious clothing but for the immersive storytelling through decor. The runway’s surreal indoor landscape of grassy green hills created an emotional connection, reflecting themes of security and escapism. It wasn’t just a setting—it was a narrative brought to life. Zegna’s collection reaffirms the importance of design that resonates on multiple levels. It's not just about what we see—it’s about how we connect, interact, and feel within the space. At least, that’s what we believe at Jannan Studios. Short and clear insights into #MilanDesignWeek2024 #SalonedelMobile2024 #Fuorisalone2024 #SaloneSatellite2024
Design Colour + Trend Consultant | Designer | Speaker + Educator | Creative Strategist | Brand Ambassador for RAL COLOURS | Sustainability + Equity Advocate
Milan Design Week 2024: Insights + Analysis Recap: Overall #MDW2024 was inspiring but too crowded. Not enough sustainable solutions, especially among premium and luxury brands, shame on you! Most brands focused more on emotional qualities of design such as re-editions, multi-sensory and nostalgic designs, craftsmanship, colour, collectibles, etc. #MilanDesignWeek2024 It's still the most important design event in the world, and rightly so. The queues are back, despite more exhibitions. Of course, the hype has led to overrated shows (Loewe, Google, Bottega Veneta x Cassina, Gucci,...). The event has become too big and scattered. Take the must-see Alcova, for example. As usual, the platform delivered, but it was too far from the city centre. Too much quantity in almost all the shows. #SaloneDelMobile2024 This year's theme, 'Where Design Evolves', was a little vague but apt. Indeed, there was more evolution than innovation. Still, the show was inspiring in terms of colour, material and finish. And unlike last year, there were plenty of intriguing new forms. Almost all the big names didn't do nearly enough in terms of ethics. While greenwashing was a core principle recently, most brands didn't even bother. Irony out. Everyone knows about the pollution and waste disaster. Will the furniture industry wake up when it's too late to care about furniture? Arper was a great exception, showing the potential to make the planet a better place through smart design. #SaloneSatellite2024 Unfortunately, despite its 25th anniversary, it was weaker than usual. My favourites were the floral inlays by Intent Made and Elisa Passino Studio. There was a retrospective exhibition in the Triennale. #Fuorisalone2024 The highlight was Marimekko x Apartamento Magazine's 'Bar Unikko'. Celebrating Marimekko's iconic print with all the senses, they beautifully transformed a regular bar and deservedly became the talk of the town. All in all, magazines and PR agencies are becoming increasingly influential. The 'Materia Natura' theme was ideal for CMF enthusiasts. I liked the Elle Decor show, with a strong focus on textures and woven-inspired tiles by Mutina x Ronan Bouroullec. Many exhibits were about sustainability and mindful design practices, offering solutions for the circular economy, using waste-based and planet-friendly materials and techniques. One of the best was the hemp display by Majotae 9490. Craft and collectibles were big this year. Although much of the world is looking at AI these days, MDW served up quality craftsmanship and handmade one-offs that combine art and design. My next post on MDW will focus on the key themes. Trend: Defining Our Space Life in 2025 The very nature of a trend is that it’s short-lived—or relatively short-lived, anyway. But what has set apart the majority of ‘trends’ from the last year is that they haven’t really been trends at all. 2024 has been the year of the ‘anti-trend,’ marking a shift from fleeting fads to more enduring, meaningful movements. But what does 2025 hold? What Designers Think The focus will be on handmade, artisan designs crafted more responsibly. We’ll see a rise in ‘shopping small’ and celebrating handmade artistry and craftsmanship from across the globe. Consumers will gravitate toward more decadent, collected homes. From Parisian opulence to Mediterranean layering, design in 2025 will reflect maximalist influences from diverse cultures. Through rough forms, rustic, handcrafted objects, and pieces connected to ceremony, history, and far-flung travels, trends will embrace a slower, more mindful, and ritualistic way of life. Looking Back for Inspiration 2025 promises to be a year of nostalgia and global creativity, where the past becomes a rich source of inspiration for a thoughtful and intentional future. #Design2025 #ArtisanCrafts #SlowLiving #MindfulDesign #CulturalHeritage #GlobalInspiration #SourcingPartnerships #Inclusion #Sustainability #InspireYourLivingSpace #InspireBusinessInAfrica #BeSmart! , #BeInclusive!, #BeSnob!

The worlds of fashion and interiors have blended in the past, but not quite like this! Spanish furniture brand, ACTIU is bridging corporate furniture and fashion through a noble ‘Second Act.’ The brand is repurposing remnant fabric from their factories in partnership with fashion design students at Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation. These impressionable minds are not only learning about sustainability first hand, but also harnessing their unalloyed creativity to produce garments that lightly scrap the boundaries between design disciplines. Read more about Second act here https://lnkd.in/d5x-sEaF This is just a glimpse, there is a promise of more. Stay tuned!
