I met Erica back in her Condé days. We did some really cool things together... (ahem, hosting Hillary Clinton and the Teen Vogue Summit at 72andSunny!). But, that was just the beginning of our friendship and working relationship. Today she launched XP Land's first ever experiential upfronts (aka. XP Fronts). Over the last 3 months Origin is down 6% whilst AGL is down over 14%. With a big recent breakaway. The buyers, bankers and funders of the Origin deal are all incentivised to have AGL drop. It makes their deal look way better by comparison. In a market where there is really only one listed comparison. And where both parties are incentivised so strongly (it is a $20bn deal). What is to stop them selling down or buying up a competing stock, to make this offer so much more attractive? I am not saying that is happening at all, but just looking at the incentives and imagining it could be.
