The pursuit of true equality and diversity in the workplace can be a difficult journey. Recent experiences have shown me that the glossy facades of DE&I initiatives touted by some multinational clients are simply that - facades. Despite public proclamations and senior leadership involvement in DE&I think tanks, the reality is that women entrepreneurs are still being rated by male CEOs. It's a paradox that is stunning in its simplicity. Even more disheartening is when I shared a photo highlighting the issue, I was met with disbelief that capable women could not be matched with even more capable men!!. It feels as if we've woken up in 1952, with little progress made.
