I was putting two proposals together for different clients yesterday and the process reminded me just how many often unseen components are required to properly execute a customer strategy. There have been plenty of mistakes made during my career, but the principles that have never let me down are: 1) Be led by the Voice of the Customer 2) Nail the Ideal Customer Profile and Customer Value Proposition. Everything else is useless if you get this wrong 3) Build long term (internal) capability over temporary (external) campaigns 4) Embed customer strategy across the organisation 5) Take a Lifetime Value approach to customer acquisition p.s.
