One of the big barriers I find when schools are thinking about buying a 3D printer is fitting it into the curriculum. If schools don’t have a clear strategy, it’s harder to justify the cost. Or worse, it ends up sitting in the corner gathering dust. Properly incorporating 3D printing into the curriculum offers opportunities to engage students in hands-on learning that promotes creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. #3dprinting #education #3dinschools #3deducation

The Calcasieu Parish School Board, located in Louisiana, has embraced and fostered a culture of innovation districtwide, deploying 400 MakerBot Sketch 3D printers across its network of elementary, middle, and high schools. The idea was to implement a solution "that could impact classrooms across grade levels and curriculum, driving students to design, create, think, and problem-solve," according to Kim Leblanc, CTO of CPSB. 3D printing emerged as the ideal choice.
