It’s that time of year again—Feet on the Floor is back! At Booker, we believe in making sure every team member feels valued and connected. That’s why we run the Feet on the Floor program each year, giving colleagues from our offices the chance to roll up their sleeves and join our branch teams during the busy Christmas season. This hands-on experience not only helps us support our branches during this peak period but also fosters stronger connections across our business. It’s an opportunity to work alongside colleagues we might not usually interact with and gain a deeper appreciation for the incredible work our teams do every day. Here’s to another successful Feet on the Floor season!
Have a great week! 👣
Sadly just hollow words nowadays. Charles Wilson built a Booker where Regionals and Support Centre (note no ‘Head Office’ back then) understood their role was to support the store teams so they could serve the customer. Post CW they’ve become self appointed dictators more interested in beating store teams with the sticks they call ‘investigation’ and ‘disciplinary’. A 2 tier system where it’s one rule for one and well we know the rest. Who’s policing the police in this regime ? As for the Tesco team at the top they need to ask themselves if they are in it for the customer or it’s just somewhere to show off their cars. Remember …CW didn’t even own a car let alone a Ferrari.
When will Feet on the Floor come and help those in the DCs?
Wow … what a lovely thought. It’s a great way of building a connection with colleagues no matter how junior or senior they are . Hats off to the person who sold you that idea .. bravo 👏. Hope you all have a lovely and joyful Christmas 🎄
You lot must think there are fairies at the bottom of the garden… let me give you a 2024 reality check… 1. Many of these folk go sick or bail at the last minute. One person (you know who you are!) failed to show up three times in 4 years 🤣 and nothing is ever said!!! 2. When they do arrive it’s normally for Xmas dinner where the people in the branch have no idea who they are. 3. They spend most of their ‘shift’ on the phone or ‘I need to check my emails’ in the office and you don’t see them again until they decide it’s time to get on the road at 3pm. 4. They wouldn’t know how to do something useful if it bit them on the backside. They attempt to fill shelves but give up after a couple of pallets of bulk stock. Try filling 40 pallets in a day with a 10 minute coffee break!! 5. Feet on the floor isn’t about parading around in a Xmas jacket claiming to be ‘one of the team’ and then jumping in your Ferrari to avoid the traffic on a trading estate at 5pm. Name and shame your HO support who failed to show up!! Feet on the floor is like a Xmas tradition, and that’s why you’ll get the same dopey message this time next year 😂😂
