At Khoj, Apni Shala’s school for SEL-aligned education, we recently conducted a whole-school assessment with support from Adhyayan Foundation. We used Shaala Siddhi, a whole-school assessment tool developed by The National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA). The Apni Shala team underwent two days of training with Adhyayan. The assessment includes 7 domains, namely, (1) Enabling Resources of School, (2) Inclusion, Health and Safety, (3) Learners' Progress, Attainment and Development, (4) Managing Teacher Performance and Professional Development, (5) Productive Community Participation, (6) School Leadership, and (7) Management Teaching-Learning and Assessment. Following this, we assembled a team of assessors, including central team members, Khoj teachers, other staff, parents, and students. All assessors were oriented on the themes and assessment process, evidence collection, and domain analysis. Leadership and management and Learners’ progress, attainment and development, and psycho-social safety emerged as the school’s strengths. The assessment also highlighted some areas, such as community participation and provisions for physical safety, can be strengthened. These insights are now feeding into our planning for the next school. #SELStories #EmpathyInEducation #ConnectingThroughNarratives #SEL #socialemotionallearning #mentalhealth #wellbeing #education #empathy #emotionalintelligence #educators #inclusion #emotional Priyanka Shrivastav Mayuri Golambde Sangeeta Zombade Amrita Nair

The three-day workshop on the Children’s Library was very fruitful for teachers as well as for the Abako-Karunodaya Team. We changed the method of traditional training so that teachers get the maximum learning and, at the same time, make it fun for them. We learned very deeply how teachers need to be trained very effectively so that they can apply their learning in the classroom very well. “Role play was the most enjoyable activity for me. Through this we not only presented our story in an interesting way but also enjoyed others presentation too. So many different stories were presented by so many intelligent minds(members of each group). Attractive props were used and the dialogue delivery was awesome by each and every member. In fact, we had the full scope to showcase our talent and storytelling activity. So for me, Role Play was the most memorable moment.”- Rachna Mishra from Primary School Shankar Balika “I understood very well how to manage a library in the proper way and how to Read Aloud to Students. Children’s library will be very effective for children because children want to play and with this library activity they will improve their reading skills from the interesting activities of the library.” - Rekha Kumari from MS Bara Thanks to Lety Mam, who supported us throughout the three-day training and made an effective contribution to the workshop. We are very positive that the three-day workshop will make a massive impact on teachers as well as Students too. 🌟 Ever wondered how a passion for education can shape a diverse career path? 🌟 As a second-year English student at ENS University - Antananarivo, I have had the privilege to explore various facets of teaching and administration. From developing lesson plans at Sunrise Academy to managing administrative tasks at the Regional Synod of FJKM, every experience has enriched my journey in education. Here are three key insights I have gained along the way: #EmbraceContinuousLearning: Whether it is obtaining a Master's degree in Law or attending Mack Gregor's teacher training, I have learned that growth is essential for personal and professional development. #AdaptabilityisKey: Teaching high school students at Lycée Taravinany had taught me the importance of creating engaging curricula and adapting to different learning styles. #CommunityEngagementMatters: Volunteering in community outreach programs has shown me the profound impact of giving back and supporting others. These experiences have not only honed my skills but also fueled my passion for education and mentorship. How have your diverse experiences shaped your career? Share your stories in the comments below! 👇 #Education #CareerGrowth #ContinuousLearning #CommunityEngagement

#lifelong education #Talentserve Lifelong learning is the concept of pursuing additional education and the development of further skills beyond an individual’s formal or compulsory education. Lifelong learning is generally voluntary and self-motivated based on a pursuit to learn more, gain new skills or support professional development. Often lifelong learning is based around personal fulfilment or enjoyment. It is generally regarded that lifelong learning is self-motivated, informal, voluntary and based on personal interests. Examples of lifelong learning could be anything from learning to play an instrument, taking part in an online skills course of even enrolling on to a re-training scheme.
