𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤-𝐭𝐨-𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐑𝐮𝐬𝐡 As anticipated, the back-to-school season has brought a whirlwind of activity to our hypermarket. Parents and kids have flocked in large numbers, filling their trolleys with school essentials. From bulk shoppers juggling multiple trolleys to families excitedly picking out the perfect backpack, the energy has been palpable. At my cash counter, the sight of several trolleys lined up has become a familiar one. It's been a hectic couple of days, working tirelessly to keep the queues moving and ensuring every customer leaves with a smile. The teamwork and dedication of my colleagues have been truly inspiring. Reflecting on the past few days, I'm proud of the effort we've put in to create a seamless shopping experience. From early morning stock checks to late-night cleanups, every task has been a step towards making this back-to-school season special for our community. A Salute to Teachers As we prepare for the new school year, let's not forget the incredible teachers who are also gearing up for the return of their students. They are busy decorating classrooms, planning lessons, and ensuring that every child feels welcomed and excited to learn. Their dedication and passion are the backbone of our education system, and they deserve our utmost respect and gratitude. As the kids head back to school, I want to take a moment to appreciate the hard work and resilience of my fellow team members and the teachers. Together, we've turned a challenging period into an opportunity to shine. Here's to the parents, the kids, the teachers, and my incredible colleagues—thank you for making this back-to-school season a memorable one. Let's continue to support each other and make every day as rewarding as the last. #BackToSchool #RetailLife #CustomerService #Teamwork #SundayReflections #QatarRetail #HypermarketHeroes #CommunitySupport #SchoolSupplies #Memories #TeachersRock #EducationMatters

Your clothes came from Kmart and they stayed on layaway until school started. Eating out at a restaurant was a thing every now & then!! Fast food was leftovers at home. Eating popsicles was a treat on a hot day. School was mandatory. You took your school clothes off as soon as you got home and put on your play clothes. If no one was home after school, you went to the neighbors. Nobody paid for daycare because we had a key to the house to get in when we got home. We ate dinner at the table. Our house phone wasn't always being used. We played Cops and Robbers, 1-2-3 Not It, Red Light Green Light, Hide & Seek, Truth or Dare, Tag, Kickball, Dodgeball & we rode bikes. Girls and Boys played in the street. We came home when the street lights came on. Staying in the house was a punishment and the only thing we knew about being "bored," "You better find something to do before I find it for you!" We ate what Mom made for dinner or we ate nothing at all. There was no bottled water; we drank from the tap or the water hose! Phone numbers and address’s were either memorized or written on a folded piece of paper which was kept with you at all times! What were Cell phones? We watched cartoons on Saturday mornings and rode our bikes for hours. We ran around in the streets until dark and came in before the street lights came on. We were AFRAID OF NOTHING. We watched our mouths around our Elders. If we acted up we got the wooden paddle, switch or belt! These were the good old days.

Kids stay free. Well if they are not free, do they just stay home ? Of all the things that surprised me this week, this likely takes the cake ! What do you guys think ? Great price positioning ? Personally, I have seen other better ways to position value add services for kids. -Rollaway beds -kids movie rental -kids breakfast -late checkout Plus, the value metric and the offer metric are not aligned. Hotel is priced by the room. Not priced by per person. So we can't really say kids stay free. Unless you can extend that logic to adults stay free. I would not have signed off on that value proposition. It has my down vote for sure ! Let me know what you think ? ———————- Everyday content on #pricing #discount #revenuemanagement and #career Join a small community of 8000 other professionals !
